't know, frankly, I don't care. This is outstanding. Bag note is exceptional. The cut is a little rougher than say a C&D blend, not bad, just different. The bulk was fairly dry but still needed several relights, I believe due to the cut as different tobacco's have a different burn rate. That being said, I didn't mine the relights. After an Aro safari, coming back to a fine Olde English is nice. Now I'm a big fan of H&H Blackhouse, which is another fine Balkan Sobranie hack. This may give Blackhouse a run for their money. The Latakia in this is present, but here the Oriental and Virginia take center stage. This is a sweet flavorful smoke. I don't care what they call it. Is it as good as the original? relaxing. It’s definitely not a powerhouse, which is a good thing. It’s mild enough that you can really taste the orientals, the star of the show by far. The latakia is present but it just supports the orientals. And the virginia gives it the perfect balance of grassy sweetness to round out the spice. Lately, I usually go for balkans and Englishes with burley (e.g., Sutliff’s companion to this blend, BS 759 Match), but leaving out burley or cavendish helps to put the orientals on center stage, which is great because whatever orientals they use in this blend are uncommonly nice. They have this beautiful sour tang, almost savory. As Old Timer…’s review points out, many relights are needed as it is quite a task to keep it lit, but that does not seem to affect the flavor much. The smoke is cool and rich and flavorful. It is a bit wet, even after rubbing and setting out to dry for 20 mins. But that problem is easily solved with a wide and shallow bent pot pipe. I came across this product after trying several other Balkans. The smoke is not overly smoky, yet still somewhat smoky but refreshing. It has a pleasant sour taste that I never get tired of, like yogurt. I am very lucky to have found this tobacco.

r than Blackhouse which wasnt bad at all but I probably wont get again because at $31.12 for 16oz at the time of this writing I will be putting a couple pounds of this in the cellar to brace against tax increase that it inevitable.
