I must admit I took a chance on this one. I was afraid that anything that said Russian on it was going to be quite a strong powerful shot to the lungs. It seems that this lies well below that extreme edge that we’ve all hit at times. It’s actually surprisingly mild but has a perfect Latakia fragrance and flavor. I didn’t find it at all overpowering. This tobacco is something on the order of 45% latakia, and its noticable at once. Not overly wet out of a fresh tin, it smokes well to a white ash. It reminds me of the short-lived Compton's blend, York Full Mixture. If you like a full English blend, then this is the tobacco for you.

Opened fresh tin and smoked in a meerschaum. Burns to fine ash without any drying. Comes as a cake so will need to be cut and rubbed to stuff into pipe. I enjoyed this blend. Good latakia flavor profile. Nice smoke. No rough edeges. It's strong and one bowl at a time is plenty. Recommend a try if you like English blends. Will likely order more....Read More
