About This Pipe Tobacco
Beginning with healthy portions of white and dark Burley blended with Red and Bright Virginia leaf, C&D's Redburn then incorporates a touch of spicy Dark-Fired Kentucky, topping it with the flavors of dark rum and molasses and pressing into an old fashioned crumble cake.

, and it has roughly the same nicotine strength as Haunted Bookshop; but with Redburn you get all these really interesting little extra complexities and nuances if you take the time to sip it slowly and suss them out.
In spite of the dark rum and blackstrap molasses toppings it's not an aromatic by any means, it's still a fairly stout Burley blend in both flavor and aroma, but the little touch of sweetness they impart really tames down the bitter acridness that C&D's Burleys tend to have and makes for a smoke that's neither bitter nor sweet but fairly neutral on the palate. If you really search for it you can taste a hint of rum or Brer Rabbit molasses here and there, and every now and then a little barbeque smokey Dark Fired Kentucky flavor wafts in as well, but the white and dark Burleys really are the star of the show.
It's a great blend for absentminded puffing since on the surface it's basically a souped up Granger for those who like a bit more Vitamin N, but if you take your time and sip it slow there's a great deal of subtle complexities and flavor interplays to discover. I can safely say that Redburn is easily the most complex Burley blend I've ever had, and just a really dang cool and satisfying smoke!...Read More

note is just overpowering the natural tobacco profile. Idk, maybe I just don't like a rum casing on my smoke? But i keep thinking of it was a faint hint of rum, like it states, it would be amazing. All I get from this smoke is rum though, no tobacco. I'll allow it a few months time in a jar and revisit znd hopefully the rum profile will decrease and I can still enjoy this blend, because with the tobaccos in this blend, I know id enjoy it....Read More
