l over. I grabbed a favorite Savinelli Spring 614 and loaded up using conventional packing technique and lit up…a charring light that I let die before a light swirling tamp and relight. I spent over an hour smoking it to the bottom and relit several times as I didn’t feel like hurrying through this delicious Burley blend. I concluded that I’d hit on the right combination and enjoyed several relights, each tastier than the last. I’ve been trying to find something that beat some old favorites like PA of which there are no substitutes…I’ve been a pipe smoker for over 50 years and have smoked more different blends than I can recall but always lean towards Burleys as I enjoy the depth of flavor and ease of smoking them…if you do it right, they don’t bite thus, Take your time…Pegasus showcases Runowskis knowledge of building a good blend and how to smoke it for best effect. A rich flavorful taste with depth and jus the right strength to satisfy. This is a great smoke. There's nothing that will grab your attention here. It's simple, honest tobacco. It burns cool, produces billows of smoke easily, and tastes good. An excellent beginner blend, a great all-dayer for anyone who likes the flavor of tobacco.

This is a flavorless tobacco that is very steamy and wet when smoked. I should have gotten a Virginia-Burley blend or something without Black Cavendish. Black Cavendish is just too problematic.

It's Stout, but Oh So Smooth

cause I never can; when I smoke a pipe, I can usually tell you if I'm smoking a straight Virginia, straight burley, VaPer, Latakia or Oriental-heavy mix, but that's about it. To me, good tobacco tastes like good tobacco, and bad tobacco tastes like different parts of the same burnt wet oak stump.
This one is phenomenal, and I can really taste the typical dry dark chocolate and slightly pithy walnut flavors associated with high quality burley. There's not much of a nic hit, but I'm also not particularly sensitive to that, so your mileage may vary. Great, slightly spicy retrohale.
I Can't taste any of the Virginia and can't really tell if I can pick out the Cavendish or not, but if you like a respectably dense, flavorful, chewy smoke, you are only doing yourself a disservice by not trying this one. It's delightful....Read More
