1893 – Luxor, Egypt Sorry for not writing sooner. I have a moment now to share a triumph! As I take off my pith helmet and look out across the sands the moon is rising at last, and a cool breeze finally brings relief after a long, hot day of excavating... and of opening the tomb. Tobacco was running low, so I surreptitiously mixed in some crumbled wrappings and a bit of finger from the mummy we found. Between us... it is my own secret blend! Finally, the moment has come: I am about to smoke a pharaoh.The earthy, leathery aroma is unusual… but not unpleasant. It feels somehow fitting. It is my private reward for a good day’s digging. Notes of funerary spices, the very resins meant to preserve a long-dead king, wake the palate in the most unexpected way. As the moon climbs higher I glance down at the work camp. This one is cool smoking with a zesty little kick, not weak nor overbearing. I have smoked it in my Red Root MM cob, the Salem Woodsman, and The MM Raymond, and it smoked like a dream. Had more of a kick in the Raymond, but was pleasant in the Woodsman, and pretty good in the Red Root. I recommend sipping though as it can get stronger when you puff it....Read More

This blend is by far my favorite of the lovecraftian series. A smooth and rich smoke from the true light to the bottom of the bowl. It has enough complexity to keep you interested.I would definitely suggest trying this blend.

This blend has a right amount of everything to be a very good English blend. It smokes great in my Savinelli Sasso 106 that is reserved for English blends. I don’t know how C&D was able to pull off something that is smooth and a bit spicy at the same time, but they did. Every a want in an English, and a bit more that I didn’t know I wanted....Read More

Needed Time

This blend needed a little time for me. It initially came way too wet to smoke - I opened it about two weeks after I received it in the mail, and left it to dry about 5 mins before packing. It was still too moist, it would not stay lit. After a few days, the tin itself had dried out enough that 5 mins was a good amount of time, but it still struggled a bit, and there was quite a bit of gurgle in the pipe. Once I got a perfect pack/light/moisture combo figured out, it was excellent! There was a lingering sweetness to this that really surprised me.
