Good Morning

Product: Cornell & Diehl Good Morning 2oz
If you enjoy Peterson’s Early Morning Pipe you will like Good Morning. I bought a tin just to try and I can say I’m glad I did. It’s not complex but is quite light as an English. The Virginias are sweet and cool. It’s just not very complex. Goes great with a morning cup of coffee, but I would not say it is an all day smoke. For this reason I give it four stars. It would be nice to have around for the first pipe of the day...Read More
Excellent English morning blend

Product: Cornell & Diehl Good Morning 2oz
First and foremost I adamantly refuse to compare Good Morning with EMP. I believe that this excellent blend deserves to be weighted and evaluated for its own merit.
Interplay between Virginias and Orientals sets the main stage. Virginias with Red Virginia clearly dominating provide abundant sweet
ness and dark fruit taste. Orientals do its usual dry incense thing as well as provide somewhat creamy taste and lots of spice. I would say that Virginias and Orientals are in fierce competition for leadership and during the smoke one often takes the lead over other. Smoky and soft Latakia is ever present but always takes a backstage which is exactly as it should in the English morning blend IMHO.
The blend is not pipe dependent at all. Tastes the same both in briar and meerschaum pipes of all sizes and shapes.
Altogether, it is an excellent English morning blend. I would rank it higher but I like my regular morning staple of Chelsea Morning, Ashbury, and Meridian more.

Product: Cornell & Diehl Good Morning 2oz
Good for when you are tired of everything else in the morning and want something straightforward but not totally lifeless either. Nothing crazy though.
Interesting but not EMP

Product: Cornell & Diehl Good Morning 2oz
Im not sure what blend this refers to in comparison but its not EMP. This is a light English that leads with virginias as the citrus and hay takes the lead. Its not until a few good puffs in that the orientals show up. The latakia is a hint, unfortunately, as it needs a good kick. Its a clean smoke, light in aroma and room note. Its a pleasant, light way to start the day....Read More
Not the one for me...

Product: Cornell & Diehl Good Morning 2oz
This is not, at all, enjoyable for me. I'm giving it an "Average" rating for now. Because it stings my tongue a bit while giving nothing much in return for the pain I receive from it. It's a bit sour...a bit tacky (feels coated with something) and I've yet to enjoy one bowl of it. And this all with it being dated; Oct. '23, I expect it will not improve with age (could be wrong). I'll continue working through this. But I am thankful to only have one 2 oz tin. I'll *Update* this review if necessary. OK...time to *Update* this now; still isn't working for me...it needs some VA sweetness, IMO, so it has 'some' flavor. So, I added 0.5 oz each of Rivertown's Sunrise Select & Crimson Shadow (both stoved months ago...but I do not enjoy them much, alone) to the 2 oz (minus three bowls) of "Good Morning" I have left. Now it's quite tasty, in any pipe, and I can just enjoy what's left. And for still having some of the two RTW blends left, which I do not absolutely love, I've ordered three more tins of this to mix with those two RTW blends; to mix as done before....Read More
