Great Flavor, Serious Nicotine
August 28, 2026
Product: Cornell & Diehl Haunted Bookshop Bulk
Haunted Bookshop starts off with a really pleasant bready and nutty character. The smoke is rich, smooth, and wonderfully fragrant, and the flavor stays quite enjoyable throughout the bowl. But don't let the smooth smoke fool you—the nicotine starts to sneak up on me as the bowl progresses. By the end, I can definitely feel the nicotine, with a bit of a head rush and that classic “nicotine drunk” feeling. A very flavorful tobacco with a fantastic room and smoke character, but it's got some serious horsepower. Definitely one to take slow and easy. Sip it rather than puff it, and it rewards you. Smoke it too hard, and it'll let you know who's in charge....Read More
Made me sick

Product: Cornell & Diehl Haunted Bookshop 2oz
Ive tried this one a few times, and while I can greatly appreciate the flavor profile the nictoine on this far closer to a 5 then a 3. I get the spins from just two puffs, hard pass. Flavors not worth the illness.
Some love it, some hate it. I'm blessed to love it.

It's good. It's really good. Cornell & Diehl is probably my favorite blender at this point- those boys know what they're doing. I'm not going to bore you with the "nutty aromas" and "hint of vanilla" crap. I'm just going to tell you why I like it. I spent all summer on Briar Fox, and loved every minute of it. Well, summer wrapped up, so I needed an autumn blend. Something for the changing weather. Something a little stronger than Virginias, but English blends are for winter. Burley? Yeah, I'll give that a shot. Haunted Bookshop? Sure. Why not. This one is fantastic, but you probably won't think so at first. You'll likely be a little underwhelmed. I know I was. Briar Fox is a great time right out of the gate, but this one takes about a week. After half a dozen bowls, I couldn't stop myself from smoking it! I usually have one "daily" blend for the season, but I still smoke something different occasionally. Every time I loaded something else, I get five minutes into smoking and think, "I wish I loaded Haunted Bookshop". You know what it is? C&D does "vibes". That's why they're the goat. Briar Fox is happy, it's light, it's carefree- just like summer. Haunted Bookshop isn't moody, but it is serious. It's contemplative. Not like an English blend's "we need to survive this winter" serious, but a little foreboding. And that's why I love it....Read More

Lucky Strike???
October 08, 2026
Product: Cornell & Diehl Haunted Bookshop Bulk
Thought it tasted like my father in law's unfiltered Camels or Lucky Strikes. After a few more bowls I finally got it. It reminds me of the scene in The Fellowship of The Ring where Gandalf rides to Minas Tirith to research the ring and realizes that Frodo is the keeper of The One Ring. The scrolls are old, fragile and dusty while air is likely dry and redolent of candle, torch and lantern smoke. Powerful image. Doesn't matter. I still don't like it...Read More
