Another overhyped aromatic. This one was a miserable smoke for me. Sour tasting and got real hot real fast. A freind of mine tried it and liked it alot so that's why it's getting 2.5 stars. I would not purchase it again.

Taste like it smells

I made a King Cake, ate the King Cake, and figured try this tobacco.

Tin note is a freshly baked King Cake with icing and sprinkles. Kid you not. The taste is bready virginias, raisins, and sweet and spice (like cinnamonish), just like a King Cake!

I kept this in the tin, cellared, for 7 ish months. I can't tell you what it would have tasted like brand new but it tastes just like it should after sitting.

Tin note of Nutella, rum and fig newtons. Tobacco cut is Krumble Kake, the chunks of tobacco are marbled light brown, medium browns and a little dark brown. Tobacco breaks apart easily and rubs out fairly easy, it is also a bit moist and probably could use some drying. Burns moderate with normal amount of relights. The strength is mild-medium and nic is mild. Flavoring is mild, with background notes of spiced rum, overly ripe plums, and sweet nuts. Taste is medium and mostly consistent, with notes of tangerines, ripe fermented fruit, lemon grass, pumpkin spice, dry earth, stewed Rasins, maple, mild cedar and moderately peppery retro. Virginias are leading with Izmir supporting. Cavendish is keeping pace but remains in the back. Perique is all over the place. Room note is pleasant, and aftertaste is great....Read More

I'm from Montréal and know very little about the new Orlean tradition of the king cake. what I do know on the other hand is that I bought 4 tin and will need to buy WAY more! the flavours and aroma remind me of my grand mother " pudding chomeur" or " sucre a la creme aux noix" its a real treat. the room note will attract people. the taste is a sweet round creamy nutty. I cracked a tin of King Cake at the start of Carnival Season this year. The tin note really does smell like king cake, so much so that it took me back to mardi gras past, eating some breakfast king cake from Sucre in my treme rental house on fat tuesday morning. The cut is ribbon with some darker chunks here and there pressed into an easy to break up crumble cake. Smokes cool and sweet, with a hazelnutty topping that tastes very much like the sweet pastry this blend is named after. Can definitely taste the cinnamon spice of the perique. I wouldn't call it an aromatic because I didn't think it smelled all that good. Smelled better in the tin.
