A very simple but very good smoke.

This blend has an uncomplicated taste and zero bite. I taste maple and burley.... and that's it. It has what I choose to call "codger qualities " to it. Not every smoke need to be complex, sometimes somthing simple does the trick.

Good quality tobacco as expected from C&D. As for a maple I prefer their Autumn Evening. Perhaps what I want doesnt exist but I will continue my search for the ultimate maple.

like it was just a week or so I had this blend already. No - that was the 13th blend I rated - Black Gold Maple - which I rated 4 and generally liked (a lot for me) as an aromatic.
Similarly this blend is honest and up front on delivering the maple taste. If anything I’d say that BGM was juuuuust a little more rounded with a cocoa flavor missing here. If you’re a fan of Oreo crème but don’t eat the cookie , this is your blend. If you like the whole Oreo, Black Gold Maple would be a better choice IMO.
(I really wish I had some BGM with me to compare side by side. Unfortunately (for me, but not to my friend). I have been passing along the remains of the samples to folks , kinda like Johnny Appleseed planting a forest of new pipe smokers , and don’t have any anymore.)
It does have a nice room note. Probably a great blend if you’re going to be in public spaces. It will give you dense clouds of smoke that are pleasant and harbor no offensive notes.
To put a button on it - it’s good. To me Black Gold Maple is better - but I think both likely have an audience. If you’re totally new, I’d recommend an ounce of each to see which team you play for - otherwise I don’t see a need for me to put a jar of it away.
My heart says the rating would be in the “I’ll finish what I have but no more” category, but truth is I could see me throwing 4 oz on an order if I needed to get free shipping.
