nd, but I think it really shines if you come back to it every now and then and appreciate it relative to other blends.
The only downside is the room note is simply 'burnt tobacco,' perhaps why I have most enjoyed this blend through my demi-churchwarden (Savinelli Ginger's Favorite). Additionally, I strangely preffered this blend with a filter, as it delighted in burning quick and therefore required much more babysitting if you wanted the flavor to not overpower without a filter....Read More

l are present in this blend, which is comprised of Virginia’s, Latakia , Perique and Oriental leaf.
This regal blend was sampled in a Missouri Pride, which seems an insult to the blend as it is top shelf and well the Missouri Pride is not.
OK. This is going to be a backwards review again. My rating is a five. It is a five. You need to go buy some before I buy it all up and you can’t get any.
Why would I go crazy for this blend? First of all because it caught me 100% unaware. Looking at the name and just the way the world works out totally judging a book by its cover. I thought anything called Plantation Evening was going to just be some type of goopy, sweet aromatic with peaches and sugar or maybe something with apples or best case scenario a Carter Hall clone of some type of Burley blend.
I could not have been more incorrect. While they call it in English the first thing that I noticed when I lit the pipe up was “damn this taste like an amazing VaPer!”
I can’t really make you understand, but you’ll either get it or you won’t. At lighting it up there was like a shot of faint vinegar along with the sweetness of a tall glass of sweet tea, and there was depth there. I mean, there’s some solid depth in this blend and the perique and oriental just really mash in good with the Virginia and the Latakia , I think is a magical binder.
It’s subtle. It’s so so subtle. It does not overpower the mix at all and I don’t even get the “hey this is a nice English” vibe from it. What I get is “damn I might like this better than Bayou Morning.”
There’s a bit of a spoiler alert by the way because while this is the 71st blend in the series Bayou Morning is the 101st blend. When I recorded the ratings Bayou Morning was rated the highest of any of the blends, so 30 blends stand between the two. And I’m familiar with Bayou Morning having bought in tins before and letting it age- the most recent tin I opened being from 2022 and I opened it just last week.
With that recent reference, I can tell you that this blend right here really got my attention and I don’t have any of the sample left. I have smoked through the entire bag minus the library jar, which is something I have only done with two samples so far in this project.
There’s something about this blend that just makes it taste more expensive; makes it feel more elegant.
Honestly it makes the experience more richer than I have really experienced with anything else in the bulk project so far. It’s just damn good.
I would rate it as the second best surprise of the project so far with the first of course being Captain Bob’s Blend and its wild ride.
You’ve been warned. You need to go buy some before I buy all of it.
My rating : 5

Good amount of everything I enjoy. This was a good smoke to contemplate with. Aging is going to be key IMO.
