This has to be one of my favorite English blends that I have tried. I’m not a fan of the blends super heavily laden with Latakia most of the time, unless I’m in the mood and it’s a last-bowl-of-the-day. This, however, is what I would consider an ‘all day English’. Just enough Latakia to make it a little smokey, a hint of Perique that isn’t too noticeable until the last third, and good quality Virginia’s in my opinion. Light enough to smoke consecutively, but overall a fantastic flavor. If you’re not a fan of English type blends because of the Latakia, I would still give this a try. This is a wonderfully balanced very tasteful English blend. No gunk or junk seems to me good Tobacco’s in their purest form. An absolutely lovely smoke.

Plantation Evening is a very flavorful light to medium English that's worth every penny that I paid for it. The Virginias used are, from what I can tell, mostly of the Red variety, as there is little in the sweet, high range in this blend. However, the Reds are used masterfully and well-proportioned with the Turkish and the Perique. There is Latakia in this blend of course, but it is used condimentally. I prefer when Latakia is used as in this way, personally. Plantation Evening isn't a flavor explosion and it is definitely not a Lat Bomb. It is, however, an excellent medium English with all of the players recognizable, but working together in harmony. It hasn't won any awards, but it is definitely the English blend that I have smoked the most of and re-ordered the most frequently. On many occasions, I've found it more worthy than Samarra (which is a tobacco that I absolutely love). I've definitely enjoyed it every time that I smoke it....Read More

For latakia lovers – this won’t satisfy… for VA/Per lover’s the latakia is an annoyance. This is one that can’t make up its mind; is it a VA/Per or English? This is a sweet, mild, verdant mixture that resembles Pease’s Chelsea Morning. The perique is more noticeable than the Latakia, which is a whisper on most draws, but its smokiness is present enough to compliment the verdant, tangy/sour Orientals well. Honestly the perique and orientals are the star of this show the latakia is really just in the back ground so expect a peppery smoke with hints of stone fruit and smoke slowly it will bite you

ok, just to say, I have been going through my cellar and pulled out a tin of this that I bought from smoking pipes in 2007, tinned 2-09-07, this is a mild english, the age might have something to do with that. A beautiful blend of Oriental and Latakia. Virginia and Perique support this. This is a gospel-like work for Latakia lovers. This blend is underestimated. Please become one of the reviewers as well. delicious.

I was a little iffy on this one when I first opened it.the smell was pretty standard with an almost fruity undertone to it but otherwise just smelled like an everyday English. It was a little more moist than I thought it should be too. I packed and lit and boom first thing to hit was that fruity undertone. I couldn't place it... It's not like it's an aromatic.it instantly settled down to a nice mild English. I thought oh God it's gonna leave a pond in my pipe when it made a couple sizzling sounds early but no it was dry all the way to the bottom. About half way in a slight pepper note rose and faded back into the background.i forced myself to smoke slow because the whole time I only wanted more of this adventure.
