Great, strong balkan tabaco mixture. Cut is really rough mixed with broken flakes, it needs some work before packing but you are rewarded with nice and rich smoke all the way to the bottom of bowl.

Rich, smooth, full, reminds of Stokkebye/Arango Balkan Supreme right away, has a little less of the full mouthfeel roundedness to it, and maybe the Latakia is very subtley more sharp by contrast with the Latakia being more prominent; but not a bomb. Some enjoyable slight nose tingle pepperiness on the retro that Arango does not have. A little sweetness rolls out here and there with good fullness too. Additionally, seems a bit more Periquey than Arango (do not think Arango has any), which is a nice difference of choice.
Easy burning with little relights down to a small amount of ash at the end. Fairly cool burning, but I did get a little hot in the bowl while fast paced puffing and searching out flavors. Instant relight if you let it burn out. No management issues at all. Not a biter, but keep a finger to the bowl if you start freight training, which for me was very tempting. Full of flavor to the end - Great stuff! I might have to let prices guide me between re-purchases Arango Balkan Supreme or CD Super Balkan, but I surely expect to keep a pound handy, also both are very well priced entirely. That's what this reminds me of. Always woodsy, spicy & earthy. Occasionally lightly sweet on the tip of the tounge. Tingles the nose. Bold. Complex. There's a lot going on in there, but I can be completely satisfied smoking this whilst doing stuff. And the moustache note? Second only to Quiet Nights. the VA, and the Latakia is so sooty it coats my tongue leaving it gritty. The burley taste isn’t noticeable but it adds earthiness and body - calming everything down a bit. I get only a minor tang from the Perique and it adds depth – certainly no spiciness. Marvelous mixture… really well done. ia and Turkish, clearly). There is burley, Virginias, perique, and of course, more than a fair share of Latakia. That last component, one might expect, is very dominant in both the pouch note, tin note, room note, and on the tongue as well. If Morley’s Best has a pouch note of a pine and cedar thicket beside a roaring campfire, then the pouch note of Super Balkan is the roaring campfire itself. One important thing to note: while this blend is Latakia-forward and leaves a Latakia-laden aftertaste, it is not a Latakia bomb. And I suspect we both have sampled one or more of those, perhaps in our first days of sampling English blends!
The blend burns cool. It’s nic-hit is prodigious, and Super Balkan is a bit stronger ribbon cut than the strongest burley RIBBON I’ve enjoyed (like Old Joe Krantz or Haunted Bookshop). Hell, it rivals HH Rustica by Mac Baren for sheer punch. On an empty stomach, it might even leave you balkanized, or broken up, disintegrated! 4.5 note. Read Less

This is just faintly sweet and the Latakia is in good proportion. The Balkan leaves add a slight sour note that is not unpleasant. This burns very well, fine white ash, few delights, and is very cool.

e Orientals take centerstage. Super Balkan is not very Oriental-forward, as the Perique and Burley make rather loud contributions. Certainly we find both Burley and Perique in many English blends, the latter most especially, yet they are not supposed to steal the show in a blend labeled as "Balkan." The quintessential Balkan mix comprises the Big Three, i.e., Orientals, Latakia, Virginia, in that order. Super Balkan puts Burley in the driver seat with Perique navigating, while Virginia, Latakia, and Orientals act as mere passengers along for the ride. Consequently, it strikes me as more of an Americanized English blend than a true Balkan. It's very strong, loud, boisterous, rough around the edges, and uncouth — the stereotypical "Ugly American" on a trip across the pond as a tourist. It's good, and there's a role for it in any cellar, it's just not archetypal. It reminds me of something you might bring back from a visit with your estranged Appalachian uncle: a Backwoods Balkan. Homemade corn cob pipes, a mason jar of genuine moonshine, and a leather rollup pouch stuffed full of hand blended Backwoods Balkan, sure to knock you for a loop. Read Less

LIKED this one. This and Rajah's Court are my new everyday blends. It smokes easy, no bite, burns to the bottom in every pipe I've tried. I bought a big bag of this and have squirreled jars of it in my car, the garage, my smoking room, and my briefcase. Super Balkan is a hit for me and I have liked it in every pipe from clay, to meer, to cob, to big and little briars, straight and bent. It's a true jack of all trades blend for me. Maybe not as good as Rajah's Court, but it's a very close second. This is an absolute must try if you are into Balkan style blends. Read Less

非常偶然的一次机会，一个朋友分给了我4盎司的超级巴尔干，非常甜美的一款英式调配，燃烧速度偏慢，不会咬舌。烟气干爽饱满，劲道适宜。口味丰富而饱满，回味相当悠长，基草种类很多，比例恰到好处。在解决烟瘾的同时提供美妙的感官刺激。cd家草价合适，不会对钱包带来任何负担。不知道抽什么的时候我通常会来上一斗超级巴尔干，在我心中他就是英式调配本身。

r about a month before I tried it again but this time in a different pipe. I caught many different nuances in the blend on this try. There are some interesting competing notes here but none of them overpower the other. Very well balanced blend with a terrific smoothness. For me, I detected a nice little nic kick with this one but it was not overpowering. I even tried mixing this one with a few other blends (Nightcap mostly) and the results were very pleasing. I like this kind of blend as a first smoke of the day. Mainly a Oriental/Burley with Latakia, I prefer Sutliff's Heavy English although this blend would be a good alternative. Good stuff.
