About This Pipe Tobacco

Developed through a working partnership between Jeremy Reeves and Erik Stokkebye and hand-crafted by Cornell & Diehl, 4th Generation Small Batch Freja & Loki is a bold and robust tribute to Stokkebye's grandfather who opened a pipe and tobacco exhibition in 1948 at Møntergården, a cultural museum in Odense, Denmark, that specialized in Viking history. This exhibition displayed nearly 500 unique pipes from around the world, and it was on permanent display until the early 1960s. Freja & Loki pipe tobacco pays homage to this prominent showcase of pipe artistry through its own tin art, featuring a pair of figural pipes that Stokkebye's grandfather carved. As a blend, Freja & Loki comprises dark Burley, Black Cavendish, and genuine St. James Perique alongside Red and Bright Virginias and Katerini from Greece, all pressed into a delicate broken flake and primed for smoking enjoyment. Deeply flavorful and wonderfully fragrant, Freja & Loki delights with notes of mulled wine and stone fruits, making for a balanced and rich mixture suitable for any occasion.

I really enjoy this one. The mulled wine and stone fruit is literally right on the nose when you open the tin. The moisture is PERFECT. Ready to be packed right away. I was definitely persuaded by the story, but mostly by the amount of thought that went into this, the special tobaccos, and I am a sucker for small batches. I didn’t stock up or anything, nor will I as i would rather just savor the one tin by having a special bowl of it here and there. Plus, I pack stronger tobaccos into a smaller bowl. I wish people didn’t have to complain about pricing as if you guys don’t have a good reason for it. If you’re curious about this tobacco, I say it is definitely worth a try. Thanks for all you guys do Smokingpipes!...Read More

The tin note threw me off a little bit, but other than than its pretty dang good nice burley toasted bread taste also the perique adds a nice little bit of spice to it but not to much. All in all I'm glad I took the risk of buying 4 tins of this one 5 stars
Expensive... but worth every penny.

A good well rounded blend, earth, sweetness and some spice, I wish there was less black cav in the blend but that's a personal choice.. There are plenty of better blends, and most are cheaper. $18.80? Really, that's $5 extra for the story.
