I love this Virginia oriental. It’s better than geometrie, which I find a little too sweet. All the Virginias used in the Fog city collection are top notch. Sweet, red wine, plum and bready flavors that are the reason I love Red Virginias are prevalent here. The Turkish is definitely a condiment but it becomes more and more apparent towards the lower half of the bowl, very floral. Overall a very nice smoke. Easy prep, easy light, easy smooth smoke.

Really good Oriental

It is rather very good oriental blend. I really enjoy Virginias in this blend. Red Virginias produce its classical dark, very slightly sweet overtones. Izmir, in support, produces a lot of spice and taste of earthiness with element of bitterness. The end result is not sweet at all but entirely satisfying. The blend should be of interest both to lovers of oriental leaf as well as VaPer. The blend is pipe dependent. It tastes the best in large thick walled briar pipes IMHO. The interplay between Virginia and Turkish in this blend is not nearly as sophisticated as for example in Skiff, Ashbury, and Chelsea Morning. On other hand your old school friend doesn’t need to be overly sophisticated to bring delight with his presence.
