Outstanding

Product: G. L. Pease Key Largo 2oz
I smoke this at least three or four times per week. It is one of the smoothest smokes and great taste and room note. You can’t go wrong with this

This could easily be an every day smoke. It tastes great, has decent strength, and stays lit. I’ve smoked it with three different kinds of pipes and I think it tastes the best in a cob.
A Wonderful Blend

Product: G. L. Pease Key Largo 2oz
The tin notes describe Key Largo as "Deep, earthy and creamy", and that is a perfect description that needs no amplification! I have smoked Key Largo by rubbing out the broken flake, and I have also simply filled the bowl with the folded flake. Either method, the tobacco remains easily lit and is a wonderful smoke! Highly recommended. If I could rate Key Largo higher than 5 stars, I certainly would!...Read More
Tasty

Tasty and creamy. The Red Virginias really make this blend for me. I wish there was maybe a little more small leaf orientals, and a little less Latakia, but I'm still quite happy with it.

I have never before reviewed anything. So I can’t give you “tastes of rare earth metals, un-purchased tropical fruits, and well rode saddle leather.” All I can tell you is… it tastes like what you want. It tastes like an oily old Padron in yellowed cellophane in the back of the humidor. Other pipe tobacco’s have alluded to a cigar like experience - Key Largo delivers. Full, round, sweet, juicy cigar flavor. Get yourself one of those rubber stem grommets and chew away… for a month… on what that Padron would cost you for an afternoon! And please many kudos to Smokingpipes. Always great deals. Always arrives early. Always a pleasure to do business with!...Read More
very nice!

Product: G. L. Pease Key Largo 2oz
Tin note of sweet smoky, spices, and tart fruit. Tobacco Broken Flakes are brown, light brown and black. Moisture seems a little high, recommend drying a bit. Rubs out nicely. Burns slow with a few extra relights. The strength is medium to strong and nic is medium. No flavoring detected. Taste is medium to full and consistent, with complex notes of very earthy, cigar, dry wood, leather, mildly smoky, floral, mild herbal spices, mild sour lemon, spicy, mild cocoa powder, mild sweet grass background note, and a peppery retro. Virginia is barely beating Cigar for to lead with Oriental and Latakia supporting. Room note is tolerable, and aftertaste is great....Read More
Funky Tin Art, but Excellent Smoke
October 15, 2022
Product: G. L. Pease Key Largo 2oz
One of the other guys up here made a wisecrack about the tin art, and it made me crack up. So, I went for two tins. Maltese Falcon is good, so this one should be. It was! Excellent blend. The hints of mocha and coffee cheer me up on a cloudy day here in the boonies. No bite. Deep and rich tasting. Taste notes on the dryer side, but very enticing. Tin date was 04/22. Happy camper 100%. Enjoy yourselves!...Read More
Summer Blend #1
July 28, 2022
Product: G. L. Pease Key Largo 2oz
More mellow CT cigar than prior tobacco. The Latakia comes though nicely along with the red Virginia. A full flavor summer time out doors in the sun with a glass of rum blend. Creamy, cedar, herbal, woody, slightly sweet goodness. If you like a CT cigar in the summer this jam is for you.
Surprisingly Sweet

Product: G. L. Pease Key Largo 2oz
Too sweet for me. No earthy cigar taste at all. Lat hint fairly strong. Prefer Billy Budd to this. More sophisticated-ish than BB, also goes to say that BB is more masculine. Very soapy, you get a mild headache if you're not expecting it.

Edit: Turns out my cheap briar was too wet the night b
efore. Much better balance the day after, still soapy but not overwhelming, subtle nuances all around, very pleasantly creamy overall. Can taste the cigar leaf and the dark coffee as advertised. BB still the winner of the two due to simplicity, but if you like complex baccy, Key Largo is the one. Better aftertaste too. So delicious that you don't want to let go, no break needed unlike other stronger baccs. Comparison off top of my head: BB = Whiskey, KL = Cocktail.

Bottomline, wouldn't order again. It was a nice experience, but the freshness gets rather stale to the end.

But not for a long-term storage. Unique creamy ,nutty texture will fade away then turn into deep stuffy darker profile. Finish it ASAP
