Smooth, mellow, and super enjoyable! Has a nice natural sweetness with that classic Burley nuttiness and just a touch of cocoa. It burns cool and behaves well in the bowl! Great for a relaxing smoke any time of day. This one’s an easy favorite of mine!

Good burley virginia mix. Smokes slightly hotter than a straight burley but is considerably sweeter. Once lit it is very easy to keep it going all the way through.

Dependable, consistent everyday burley blend. Nothing outstanding or special about it, just decent stuff. It's a little sweet, it's toasty, a bit malty, earthy, nutty, cool-burning. Not very full of body, I'd put it at 2/5. Strength likewise I'd rate it 2/5. It is a bit dry, so if you usually set out your tobacco to dry, you won't need to do that with Golden Extra. Good burley blend with light chocolate and honey casing. You can taste the casing from the first puff, in the middle the burley natural flavor becomes more prominent, the last third or so of the blend is rather bland.

This was not bad just nothing to write home about.

If a creamy, honey-sweet burley with no bite is what you’re after, this is it. Burley, as I’ve experienced over 30 years of pipe smoking, has predominately had a brown sugar sweetness. Molasses has long been a casing agent for it and it’s little wonder that when sugar is added to burley, we get a brown sugar flavored tobacco. Cocoa powder is another usual ingredient to burley, but there’s none of that to be found in Golden Extra.. this is different. This is the first Burley I’ve had which tastes of honey… heather honey and no cocoa and/or coffee. Heather honey has a slight smoky flavored sweetness, kind of like the old method of boiling down maple sap with wood firing before the use of natural gas. Maple syrup used to have a smoky flavor to it… and I miss it. Anyways, Golden Extra is a sweet, toasted-oats burley, and it doesn’t grow bitter down the bowl. It maintains a consistent sweetness throughout and the finish is clean and bright. This is just so unusual to me… I’ve long grown accustomed to brown sugar, cocoa and coffee in a burley… and certainly not a burley so bright and sweet as this. I am pretty new to pipe smoking so I cannot describe why this blend is so good, I have only tried about 6 or 7 different brands, this is by far my favorite, easy to smoke and good taste
