Best American VaPer

Product: BriarWorks Back Down South 2oz
It’s quite full flavoured. Spicy figgy perique, sweet virginias with light topping which always stays in the background and doesn’t overshadow tobacco taste. Mason jar is a huge plus. Can’t go wrong with this if you like vapers, unless you’re a vaper purist and don’t like toppings.

This tastes like if you opened a tin of Orlik in a nail salon and forgot about it for a few days.
Wonderful!

The first jar I had of this was aged around 4 years. It had a wonderful note of sweet lemongrass, that I haven’t found so prominent in any other Va/Per aged or fresh.

Jar note of spiced figs and tart Rasins. Tobacco broken flakes rub out easily. The dark brown tobacco is on the wet side, drying is needed. Burns slow with a few extra relights. The strength is medium and nic is medium. No flavoring that I could discern, if there is flavoring, it muddled. Taste is medium to full and inconsistent, with notes of dry earth, bitter wood, prunes, very spicy, mild tangy fruit, mildly sweet Rasin bread, mildly floral, mild spice, a bitter plum background note, and a spicy retro. Perique is leading with Virginias supporting from afar. Room note is tolerable, and aftertaste is ok....Read More

If you’re on the fence about purchasing this tobacco, do it. This is quickly becoming one of my favorite tobaccos. On opening the container, I was impressed with the aromas of raisin and plum, with a faint bourbon-corn-sweetness. It’s a soft flake, easily broken apart. Smoking gives a soft, sweet bourbon note with soft apple and fruit tones. Definitely a smooth smoke if kept very cool. Highly recommend this product....Read More

This blend smells and tastes like Iwan Ries 3 star Blue. Sweet whiskey smell and taste. Just about 20 minutes drying time. Mason jar is a nice touch. I ama perique smoker. This blend is very tasty and satisfying.

I found this to be a perfects balance of Virgina and Perique, I get the wonderful sweetness of the Virgina with just the right amount of Perique Spice. Often, for me there can be to much Perique and I find too peppery. You wont find that here, a fantastic blend that I highly recommend. Could be an all day smoke....Read More
Robust but not exciting

Product: BriarWorks Back Down South 2oz
The blend is supplied in a wonderful Mason jar. It smells dense with an alcoholic note (kind of whisky but I have to say it reminds me of a Navy Flake too). And there are some fruity notes. It's easy to pack the flake into the pipe. First third of the bowl: It tastes a bit monotonously, enclosed in a cocoa note that is too predominant for me. The Perique is there but I've expected more. There is a hint of vanilla. I've got some coating on my palate. Second third: Beneath this cocoa there is some oak barrel wood taste. To the end of the second third of the bowl there appears some little taste of fig, apricot and prune. It's as you would have some fruity dessert covered with cocoa. Last third of the bowl: I've got more typical Virginia tastes. The cocoa declines a bit. But where is the Perique? Strength: medium. Pipe: Peterson Sherlock Holmes Mycroft Dark Smooth...Read More

The is the second briarworks blend ive tried, the first one wasnt very good at all, think it was beard blend. Had this one fresh, it didn't really jump out at me, a bit harsh and a little bite, perhaps with some age it will get better but there are many VaPers better.
