Im not really getting the pepper out of this blend. For me I'm getting the sweet, hay notes followed by a nice, flavorful fig flavor and a nice tangy fruity note about a quarter of the way through. I've only had one bowl so take my thoughts with a grain of salt, but I was pleasantly surprised with the richness in this blend. Figs and a pepperiness for sure. For me it fell down a bit in the aftertaste, but not the worst I've had. Since VaPors are my latest interest, I expect to like this one more as I smoke more of it....Read More

Orlik killer?

This is only the third tobacco that has earned the honors of 5 full stars from me. It's like a fruitier Orlik. Tin note is of apples and plums. First light is sweet grassy hay but by the third puff the aromas are awakened. Tart without being overbearing, blends nicely with the sweetgrass of the virginia. Very smooth. Halfway down, the sweet hay of the virginias turn richer, almost baconey. Fruit taste still present (not a sickly aro-type fruit taste, not artificial tasting at all). Perique does it job, adding depth. Starts to get a little spicy. The tongue tingles. Can smoke all the way to the bottom with ease. Not a trace of bite. A small amount of teeth squeakiness that I assume will go away with age, but nothing that detracts. Very nice indeed....Read More

First of all, very little similarity in taste to Orlik, by which I mean this has some, and without aging! Figs, tiny bit of pepper, sweetness, and tangy orange. What little taste Orlik has is more lemony. No figs or pepper or oranges or even much sweetness (without aging) to be found with Orlik. If you like VaPers, and tangy tobaccos, this blend is for you. Sweet and very sour tin note upon first opening. Beautiful slices that stick together for folding. Not too moist to light and stay lit, however. Average nic hit....Read More

After smoking this for a while I'm betting that there's a good deal of Perique in the blend. I ordered 3 jars and popped one open immediately. It's got a nice rich VA/Per scent and appears to be broken flakes. The taste is quite rich and fruity new, with a good helping of spicy and grassy sweetness in the mix. I can already say with certainty that this is one of those blends that will become amazing with some age on it. The other 2 jars are put aside and I plan on cracking one open at 3 years and the other at 5. I'll update progress when the time comes....Read More
