Rattray's Brown Clunee is dark in color, with Flue cured Virginias, but mellow in flavor. It is gentle and pleasing to the palate.

Purchased a bag of Brown Clunee and when it arrived I noticed the bag was very thin. A couple of squeezes revealed the tobacco was very dry. This frustrated me a bit but I loaded it up and tried it anyway. WOW. Since this is a broken flake it smoked flawlessly and the taste was fantastic. Been working on it now for a couple of weeks and Brown Clunee has quickly made its way into my top 5 VaPers list. Perfect amount of sweetness and spice but also carries light burley flavor that keeps me going back for more....Read More

This is a wonderful blend creamy smoke sweeter than expected but just because it’s heavier in VA than expected the perique and Kentucky are great background support. Came in a the right moisture to smoke but 5-10 minutes on a tray doesn’t hurt any.

This blend is pretty average for me. It has a sweet raisin smell and is really wet out of the tin. I dried it for about and hour and a half. The burley is very light as well is the perique, this is mostly a VA blend. Smoking pipes has the strengths at 3 I would say more like 2 still a good all day smoke....Read More

Mostly Flue cured Virginia leaf. The burley and dark fired are quite minimal, even to the point that they are barely noticeable.
All ingredients make for a mild delight with just the right flavor.
Simply scrumptious.

Wonderful, but a little sweet.

Product: Rattray's Brown Clunee 100g

Sweeter than Old Gowrie, but not as full bodied, of course. Soft on the palate (but I smoke with 9mm filters).
This blend, Old Gowrie and Hal O' the Wynd are my virginia blends. All year. I've left everything else behind and stopped looking for alternatives years ago.
