Rusticated Bent Dublin Tobacco Pipe

Henri Sørensen studied pipe making under Jens "Tao" Nielsen, Tom Eltang, and Lasse Skovgaard, and still takes a great amount of influence from these titans of Danish pipe making. A Dane himself, Henri originally worked as a glazier before turning to pipes, and has very much developed his own style that is complemented by his knowledge of the Danish school and its distinct traits.

This bent Dublin of Henri's has plenty of visual intrigue beyond the shape alone — namely, the quadrilateral notches that dot the stummel, giving it a rich texture that combines well with the dark stain. The rim is lightly inflated and smoothly finished to show off curlicues of birdseye, and the shank is upturned sharply to provide a distinct point to the heel. The saddle stem is translucent, amber-colored acrylic that bends lightly to the bit, giving this piece a lovely dash of color. This bent Dublin fits just inside Nosewarmer territory at 4.39 inches but packs plenty of visual intrigue into that brief length, especially with its satisfying rustication.
