Sandblasted Strawberry Wood Pot with Black Palm (1527) Tobacco Pipe

Wojtek Pastuch's path to becoming a master pipe maker began, as it often does for many artisans, as a simple love for the hobby. As a dedicated pipe smoker, he initially focused on restoring his personal collection, gradually perfecting the skills that would later define his exceptional creations. His work seamlessly combines the timeless sophistication of Anglo-French classics with distinctive, more unconventional designs, all enriched by the influence of Danish pipe-making traditions. With an unwavering attention to detail, Pastuch ensures that each pipe is not only visually stunning but also provides a superb smoking experience.

Rather than the customary briar, this Pot is carved from strawberry wood, a material renowned for its grain patterns and tactile qualities reminiscent of briar. The overall composition is lightweight and well-balanced, making for an easy, low-maintenance smoker. The bowl is characteristically squat, featuring a soft section of plateau along the rim — a rare find for strawberry wood. The shank is accented with a flared section of black palm, showcasing some clean, uninterrupted grain that adds a touch of flair to the piece. Completing the design is a slender cumberland stem, its ruby hue echoing the stain of the smooth rim, while its lines enhance the overall silhouette. Finished in a dark sandblast, the stummel reveals the strawberry wood's striking grain, expressed through tight ripples climbing the bowl. Altogether, this is a distinctive piece, and its lightweight form makes it an ideal travel companion.
