About This Pipe Tobacco

Hans "Former" Nielsen began carving pipes in 1956 and has since become a legend of Danish pipe artistry with a worldwide following. In addition to his exquisite pipes, he's released his own line of pipe tobaccos — several of the blends fittingly named after briar's grain patterns.

A full-bodied and amazingly smooth dark flake tobacco prepared from traditional old-world recipes and methods, Former's Straight Grain Flake combines Virginias with a good pinch of mellow, yet spicy, Perique to bring out the rich flavor in this zesty blend.

This a great blend of you like VaPr blends I recommend this to all my friends , sweet bready with just a little spice but smooth , I smoked through my first tin of this almost too quickly , give it a shot if you can get your hands on it I don’t think you’ll be disappointed

but it's a good smoke with a natural tobacco taste

Well... I got to the Former tobaccos.
In addition to his exquisite pipes, he's released his own line of pipe tobaccos - several of the blends fittingly named after briar's grain patterns.
I'll start with a more beautiful pattern on the "Straight Grain Flake" pipe.
The aroma of pewter is a mixture of dark, tangy, sweet Virginia and the main spice of perica. There is also a hint of leather here. This is one of my favorite flavor mixes in a tin. It really doesn't smell like any other mixture. I opened several other vapers and stuck my nose in them and none of them smelled as good as this one.
I found this to be the most enjoyable of the recently introduced former cereals. The beautifully cooked strips have the ideal moisture content and pack easily without chafing even in medium sized bowls. The blend consists of darker and reddish VAs with just the right balance of Perique for my taste. However, you have to like Perique to enjoy this blend. Lighting and burn rates were excellent and resulted in light smoke without re-ignition. This is my favorite flake out of the Former line. Easy to pack, easier to keep lit. A bit strong for a vaper, maybe that why I like it? The only thing is it’s over $2.50 MORE per tin than at another online retailer. Come on SP…. Don’t rip us off.

all of these former flakes are very good. A real surprise, actually. And this is the best, id say. Its rather strong, as vapers go, but very high quality. A stronger version of 633 by Solani.
