About This Pipe Tobacco

The Three Nuns coin tobacco was originally a creation of J. & F. Bell, dating back to the 19th century. A favorite of British author C.S. Lewis, as well as countless other pipe smokers from all walks of life across generations, it offers a blend of dark-fired, sun-cured, and lighter leafs to produce a famously mellow smoke which has endured the test of time like few others.

20+yr pipe smoker and this is my first review EVER!! let me just say I'm a very basic pipe smoker , I love reading reviews but have to admit I find most reviews way to complex for this old codger and most make me chuckle some even make me belly laugh. If you want a clean tabac with sweetness and earthy taste you can load a big bowl and smoke to ash this is it!! Decent nicotine hit not overwhelming and VERY smooth THIS IS IT!! From the first light til the end of the bowl (ASH) Ptice is a bit much but why not? Just for Nun...Read More

And would be, if it were less expensive, but it’s fair to hold to a higher standard. The only ding against this blend is the coins are a bit jumbled, and the tin presentation is not nearly as pretty as Mac Baren Dark Twist, even though the tobacco types are the same. No downgrade for having a molasses-tasting topper, even though I prefer the maple sugar of the Mac Baren blend. That’s just personal preference. Do note that if you’re looking for the original, this is not it, as it had perique. Medium in strength. Very nice, molasses tin note. The overall flavor is of sweet bacon, with just a hint of nuts from the burley in the background. Makes more smoke than the average blend. Have bought again....Read More

This Virginia/Kentucky blend is full of flavor. The sweetness of the Virginias comes through predominately, the dark fired Kentucky adds a lot of body, and the nuttiness of the burly brings it all together! I love it!
