Good stout flavor

As I seem to lean toward full flavor blends, this one got my attention. Nice real honest tobacco taste! It is strong but not over powering, at least for me. If you are sensitive to stronger blends, you might want to approach this one carefully at fir... Read More
st. Also if you don't care for cigar leaf in your pipe best avoid this one. The second you open the can the first thing you smell is the cigar leaf. As I also love cigars, that is a good thing. This line of pipe tobacco is actually put out by C&D. I like the fact that it already comes in a mason jar and is generously filled to capacity. I don't think one more shred of leaf could be fit in. This is a winner in my book. Thank you Briar Works (C&D) for producing this fine blend! Read Less

After using the tobacco locator, this had the components I was looking for. It's an expensive blend. More than Boswell's Northwoods, but I went ahead and put it on my order. Now the blend is fantastic, great flavors. But if I'm paying top dollar I ex... Read More
pect leaf, not stems. I took about an ounce out to dry and it was about 10% stems. Quality control...come on guys. When I buy bulk I expect a certain percentage of stems. As a tinned product at this price point I expect better quality control. Flavor wise it's a 5... Read Less
All-Day Blend of Lamar Whittington, Esq.

Product: BriarWorks Country Lawyer 2oz
In the countryside miles outside Nashville, Lamar Whittington, Esquire works on his legal briefs and cases all day at his roll-top desk, with black coffee all day and finishing up with bourbon from his pewter mug. But all throughout, he’s puffing his... Read More
favorite blend—this one.
And I must say I enjoy it, too. Many months back, I found it but a decent blend. Though I was a cigar smoker for decades, I ironically did not take as well to pipe tobacco that showcased cigar leaf. Puffing through several outstanding tins of various Warped pipe tobacco blends won me over, and when I returned to Country Lawyer, I appreciated it far more. The Tennessee blending studs at Briarworks have done it again!
There are many chords in this fine song, from nutty burley, to fermented Black Cavendish, to sweetly sour Orientals, then sweet Virginias and smoky, barbecue-like Dark Fired Kentucky, to pure cigar leaf. Those partial to a natural, unadulterated topping-free tobacco flavor, and cigar leaf in general, will cotton to this blend. 4.5 stars. Read Less

[Tin/Bag - Little molasis, rum, brown sugar. Good moisture, just right, ready to smoke.]
Grassy Virgina's, reminded of Orlik Golden/PS LNF on the light but lighter with a little spice, a little tang, and little burlyesqueness. Not catching any h... Read More
eavy cigar leaf or Kentucky, but slight hints and it is supposed to be in the blend.... but it is blended well and not dominating. More dominated by the Burley really. It is a nice well rounded dominately middle dry Burely with nuances of the Kentucky and smoothed out by any Virginias, Cavendish, while zested up a bit with Oriental spice to make it a well burning and easy on the tongue. Mostly Burley here as the bowl goes, but it is an interesting and smooth Burley at that.
Not leaving any extra moisture, burns well. Any time smoke. I could smoke it any day, any time, but typically would prefer more pronounced blends in various categories over it. So, I will keep some on hand, but not much more than 1.8 jars for an occasional change up. ◄6.9/10✠Skulls► Read Less

I got a jar of Country Lawyer for free when I bought a BriarWorks pipe, and even though I'm not a fan of cigars, I still enjoy this cigar blend. In my mind, Country Lawyer tastes the way a cigar SHOULD taste, with nary a hint of any flavor other than... Read More
good old-fashioned tobacco. I shared some with a friend who initially refused it when I described it as a "cigar blend", but after giving it a try he insisted that it wasn't nearly as cigar-ish as I'd implied. Not sure if I agree with his assessment, but it's a good tobacco regardless, and one that's mild enough to be an all-day smoke without overwhelming the palette. It burns pretty cool and generally stays lit well, but I've definitely noticed that Country Lawyer smokes far better for me in straight-chambered bowls than in tapered bowls. When I smoke it in a tapered bowl, it generates a lot of moisture and begins to taste acrid about halfway through. For that reason I can't give it a higher rating, but it's definitely got a place in my current rotation. Read Less

I've let this blend dwell in my cellar for a 5 months now. I come back to this blend after a round of English blends that sing the same tune every bowl. When I come back to this blend I can rely on new flavors that unfold and develop as I enjoy this ... Read More
in my Savinelli 122 or my Peterson 606. I find these to be great companions for this blend due to their inability to distort or dilute the flavor in a negative way. For all the components that are housed in this blend, it offers no bite to be had (and I smoke this like there's a pot of gold at the bottom of my bowl). As predisposed as I am to tongue bite, my tongue is only swaddled by the medley of flavors. Despite this sounding like a daily burner, I do reserve this for when I get quiet and just want to do some flavor spotting. Read Less

First of all, thank you briar works for taking the extra cost to jar this. Secondly, this is a complex blend that has a lot to offer. Enjoy the aroma and nuances of the medley of tobaccos burning together. Burns well and will remain in the rotation.

Not bad. I wouldn’t kick it out of bed. Unfortunately I have several tins already opened that are richer and several others I haven’t opened yet. I’m afraid I won’t be reaching for this one that often. Hope the air tight jar works. I’ll give it a sli... Read More
ght nod toward the full-bodied description above and a yes on the earthy description. The overall taste is rustic and the cigar leaf does show up but not as wrapper leaf in my opinion. Read Less

Prior to taking up the pipe, I was an avid cigar smoker. I would have thought I would love this blend since it has cigar leaf, but cigar leaf just does not translate well to the pipe for me. I found this to produce plenty of musty smoke, but the flav... Read More
