Outdoors Hunting 1.75oz Pipe Tobacco

I like to check AP for last calls, because I'm nothing if not a sucker for wanting to experience what I've missed before I can't anymore. And it's unfortunate then, that I should discover this so late, because for my money, it's pretty hard to find a better VaPer. Everything plays together so well. I'm not gonna try to pick out what every component does for this blend but - an almost caramel sweetness is present, but never cloying, the overall flavor however, is savory with some very mild, "round" sourness, like a blood orange. Deep and surprisingly complex. Just enough spice, and an almost buttery smooth smoke with no harshness whatsoever from beginning to end. Really makes the salivary glands go nuts. In a larger bowl, you'll catch some astringency so keep some cool water handy. Basically the only downside is that it's *very* moist from the tin and will make a pipe gurgle like a drowning frog even if you smoke it at a glacial pace; so it benefits from a good few hours of drying time. I've ordered what I think is a fair share of the remaining stock, so get this absolute sleeper hit while you still can. Just tried this for the first time. Obviously not being made anymore. What a shame. I grabbed two tins, which I can make last forever. I won’t buy anymore so others have a chance to try before they run out. Soft and gentle smoke, perfect for hotter months. Slight sweetness from the Virginia and a little bit of almost chocolate from the burley. The perique barely peeks out now and then. In full honesty, I bought this to cellar for a few years since we will never see any more Cobblestone blends. I haven’t trued it, but we all know the Cobblestone reputation for blends. All I can say is get this before it’s gone and the secondary market prices increase in the coming years.

When I proudly smoke German tobacco, I should zip my lip and enjoy it.

If this tobaccos goal was to be enjoyed outdoors, it is a total success. This is a sweet tobacco almost seems to have a honey casing. The Virginia is first, then the sweet burley and the perique finishes you off for a perfectly balanced smoke.
