Good easy smoke

It's not a complex blend. I'll recommend it to newer smokers. Because a lot of new smokers will aim for a aromatic blend. It smokes cool. Ribbon cut was correct and packed well. Burn thru most of the bowl without tamping or relights. Smoke out of crown castle 1004 bent. Plan on trying more aromatics from C&D....Read More

This ribbon cut aromatic is comprised of Black Cavendish. It was consistently cut , and while dry enough to smoke without bite had an oiliness to it.

I sampled it with four bowls in a MM Huck Finn (new).

Disclosure: I have had this before. It was “OK” but my recollection.

Wasn’t looking forward to this one (or the next one - Cherry Jubilee) after the Strawberry Cavendish fiasco. Fruit Ari’s are not my thing - or (spoiler alert) so I thought.

First bowl and the first - the very first - thought I had was “Hey - this doesn’t suck”. I expected the “cough syrup “effect I get from most fruit topped blends but here despite the oiliness it was faint , sweet and subtle. Weirdly enough I don’t think “berries and cream” - I think Little Debbie Creme Filled Raisin Cake.

Second bowl I notice that it’s actually smoking pretty “cool” and the smoke is a nice lily white. The wife was riding with me (I took the day off for an errand with my boat) and she said “that one smells nice”. Cocoa Puffs and raisins.

By the time I packed bowls 3 and 4 , I’m just digging it - like to the point I’m just enjoying it , chatting up the wife (I may be married 32 years but I still got that charm ) and honestly I’m not even taking notes. I’m comfortable with the blend.

This is probably a four on my liking it scale but a three following my defined rating process. I don’t need to cellar an aro - but - this one , yeah, come sale time I’ll likely lay back a half pound for general purpose. My only fear is I know I ha it once and it was “ok” , now I’ve had it a few years later and it’s good - but I don’t want to tie up cellar space only to find out in a few more years that I don’t care for it again.

Anyway - try it. An ounce is cheap. Maybe you like it too.

My rating : 3- this is good - I’d buy it on sale Or to get free shipping in an order.

Better than expected!

I was surprized the taste was light and fruity. Not an overpowering Berry taste. The room note was pleasant to all. The tobacco was moist but no more so than other aromatics and I am used to that. Many will let air dry for a day, although it stayed lit pretty well right out of the bag. The scent out of the bag was definitely berry. If you love "Cherry Blend" this is not for you. But if you like a Black Cavendish with a hint of flavor for a morning smoke this is a "Winner" Over all a nice break....Read More
