as some other burley blends.
The flavor is fairly simple with a lot of depth, the burley is front and center, very nutty and bold. The oriental gives it a earthy and umami flavor, and the perique gives it just a little bit of spice; I think it's those flavors that combine into the ginger and salt flavor.
I'm getting to the end of my initial 1oz order and will definitely be stocking up on this blend....Read More

pipe tobacco, but it's there and it's absolutely fantastic. I don't really know how else to describe it, but this is an excellent every day, all day codger burley blend - and at a great price.
This is probably my favorite "under-rated" blend since nobody ever talks about it. No online hype, no hoarding or scalpers - just an easy to buy blend that's ready to smoke with no dry time. Burn well, stays lit, and doesn't bite no matter how hard you push it (and I do push it at times). I have special bulk jars that I use to rotate my favorite burley dominant blends, and I'm now including this along with Old Joe Krantz, Haunted Bookshop, etc....Read More

smells like cured tobacco like you would smell coming out of the barn. It’s a slightly decayed vegetable smell mixed with dust and sunshine.
this is a blend. It’s actually been on my radar to try for quite a while, but I never committed to placing an order. I’m kind of glad I waited and got just an ounce to sample because generally if I’m trying a bulk blind, I’ll just go ahead and order 4 ounces simply because of pricing. Generally, you can get 4 ounces of a bulk blend for the same price of a 10 of 2 ounces.
Shandygaff has a very like sweet tea taste and I really didn’t detect hardly any of the Perique or orientals . If anything there’s just barely any spicy bite. It’s very good burley tobacco - it is smooth and it’s classic.
There’s really no way I can classify this beyond it’s a quality codger blend. At first it made me think of Carter Hall, which is a blend that I smoke most often while fishing, but without that little licorice and aniseed taste that I associate with Carter Hall. The more I smoked it the more I really felt like it was probably closer to Granger. It’s not a Granger clone. Don’t get me wrong. It’s just what I would say is its next-door neighbor.
It’s nutty and it’s warm and it’s sweet, but it’s really sweet because there’s an absence of any sour or tangy element.
I don’t really find any flaw in it. I just don’t really find it to be special.
My rating : 3
This is the 73rd of 101 lens. I am reviewing for this project.

Give this blend a try, it's smooth and tasty. I smoke mainly English and this fits right in. Glad I picked up a couple ounces, next order will be a pound.

C&D Shandygaff, is one of my favorite blends. Upfront I get that rich nutty burley, accompanied by the salty sea air flavor provided by the Turkish, and just enough spice from the perique. Perfectly balanced imho.
