About This Pipe Tobacco

Manufactured in a century-old brick building in picturesque Lauenburg, Germany, Dan pipe tobacco has gained quite a worldwide reputation among smokers, with a wide variety of blends and cuts on offer. Andreas Mund became the successor in charge of production when master blender Jürgen Westphal retired, and is assisted by Heiko Behrens as well as Michael Apitz of Dan Pipe.

Treasures of Ireland: Limerick is a rich Virginia/Perique flake with 5% Perique, offering a slightly cooler mixture for the palate and a dark, smooth taste.

I can hardly express my fondness for this blend. The moisture out of the tin is exactly what I want from a flake, 30mins drying time and it's ready to roll. The flavor on this mixture is bold, creamy, fresh, bitter, producing smoke so thick you can chew it. The room note is unparalleled IMO. I bought this one because it was a blend of Virginia and Perique. A superb and delicious blend of Virginia and Perique. The sweetness of the Virginia and the spiciness of the Perique balance this blend wonderfully. The taste is full and smoky. Have tried this again and again over the years, as i enjoy Virginia Perique Blends, but never regularly. Seems much stronger than most claim, closer to Strong than Medium, across the board (Taste, Nic Strength, Aroma) than other blends in the same Medium or Mild range... I tend to add more Virginia blends to it to tame it down a notch. But worth a try for anyone who likes Darker Blends with Virginia Perique....Read More
