Ashbury begins with a base of excellent Red and Bright Virginia tobaccos. Generous portions of small-leaf Oriental tobaccos provide a fullness and spice that give this blend it's wonderfully exotic taste and aroma. Finally, Pease adds a small measure of the finest Cyprus Latakia, providing deeper notes, hints of leather and campfire, and a refined finish to the smoke. Flavors! Smooth, funky, sour, sweet and smokey. This is a full English dream blend. I too say OMG! If you love English blends this one will not disappoint.

Sweet, savory, bready, buttery, malty, round, dark, mature, smoooooth as silk. First the Virginias come through, then the orientals. Latakia is there but just sort of dancing around in the background. The brighter, sharper notes of young tobaccos have all been shaved off, smoothed away, everything totally integrated. Everything is harmonius, in sync, marching at the same speed and cadence. It is so fantastic, I will probably smoke the entire tin in two days. If the weather were nicer I'd get it done in a single day (can't smoke inside in my current situation, so I have to fit it in between bouts of rain). Really, everyone should try this at least once. Go buy a tin right now and put it away for five years. Open it up on its fifth birthday and experience the opulence. I cannot imagine the bliss of a ten-year tin, or fifteen or twenty. The only reason I don't rate it the full five stars is that it's a little lighter of body and nicotine than I would prefer. However, that may change. I may decide it's a perfect all-day smoke and rate it full marks.

A lighter Balkan blend

An exceptional tobacco, but a bit on the lighter side. I tend to prefer blends which are a bit heavier, but this one makes for an excellent all day smoke. It's mildly sweet and malty with very mild smoky flavor.
