It was nutty, peppery, and sweet, as can be expected. My daughter Lucy thought it smelled like peanut butter (which is nice, because I never can discern the smell of the tobacco). A little horse radishy up-the-nose at times (which I don’t mind, really). Roasted sweet peppers, baker’s chocolate with sugar , black coffee (Columbia) with cream, and horse tacky leather (but not sweat). This stuff is dark. I don't really get a vanilla smell out of the bag and it's pretty wet. But in the pipe it's a mild vanilla taste. Not bad, not too sweet. Personally it's not one I'd light up daily, but every now and again it's not a bad one

This isn't a tobacco i smoke often but i do always like to keep it on hand, the vanilla flavor is mild and not cloying or overly artificial, in the jar the smell is more reminiscent of brownies, and it shows itself in the smoke playing nicely with a subdued burley flavor remaining after the Cavendish process. It comes out of the bag/tin alarmingly wet, and with a coating reminiscent of cooking oil (that WILL stain, dont smoke this wearing white!), but even without drying burns well with minimal gurgle or need for pipe cleaners. The profile while smoking is fairly one dimensional, but pleasant, and with a room note that's gentle and wonderful. I definitely recommend giving this a shot if you enjoy Captain Black Dark, Lane BCA, or any other straight Cavendish blends....Read More

I've had C&D blends that were fantastic. I've had vanilla blends that were fantastic. This isn't one of them. There's a slight vanilla aroma, but I'm just not getting the flavor. I'm not sure where it falls flat, maybe it just doesn't smoke well in the pipe that I chose this evening, maybe I need to smoke another bowl or two to really figure it out, but at this point in time, this is probably one of the lightest, most disappointing vanilla blends I've had. Unless this just shines in a different bowl size and shape or gets better with subsequent bowls, I won't be buying this one again....Read More

This has become my favorite yard work tobaccey. When I first received tin I thought it was too wet, nope, packed and light great. Very cool, long smoke that was relaxing while mowing. Fairly mild vanilla flavor in my opinion. Not too much taste. I prefer BCA as it is a bit sweeter and richer in flavor. This is just a "meh" kind of tobacco for me. The major downside is this is the goopiest tobacco i have ever seen. Literally left a puddle of goo in the bottom of my bowl. Never buying again....Read More

Not sure about this one. When I got it I tried to pack one after letting it sit out for an hour. Slow burnt 1/4 bowl and it started turning to a gloopy mess. Doesn’t taste bad, but had a hell of a bite from the thick casing. Stuffed it away for later, think it’s been sitting for 4 months now so I’ll check back in another two, to see if it’s any better and will update this review if I remember....Read More

This was an ok blend. Got it to try by itself as well as a mixer with other blends. On the fence about this one. I'm a hardcore Sutliff fan, so am more partial to their blends.

Straight up the most goopy goodness you'll ever smoke! Crackles in your bowl like Rice Krispies. Sure it'll stain your fingers or whatever it comes in contact with, but it is well worth it. Tons of smoke and flavor!
