About This Pipe Tobacco

Danny Kaye was a regular at Kramer's Beverly Hills shop, and they created this blend, a variation of New Mix, especially for this great entertainer. A little Perique and a good deal of Latakia are mixed with a touch of Irish Aromatic tobacco for an enjoyable, all day smoke.

I'm a huge fan of Father Dempsey so I was pretty excited to try this blend. It smokes pretty well and fairly slowly. The initial taste is a very pleasant English, but I'm really not a fan of the Irish mist topping as it leaves a kind of sour/perfumey/pungent taste and off-feeling in the back of my throat. But this is quite delightful. I almost didn't try this because of the perique, but I had the good fortune to sing at Danny Kaye's 80th (90th?) birthday when I was ten and thought, what the heck.
Very glad I got this. Full of flavor and an all day favorite now.
