Named and blended for Smokingpipes' brick-and-mortar store Low Country Pipe and Cigar in Little River, South Carolina, Low Country pipe tobaccos are all crafted by Cornell & Diehl — also located in South Carolina. They're blended to be classic, easy-smoking mixtures, honoring South Carolina's historic Lowcountry and named for some of the region's iconic rivers. As a limited-edition blend, Carolina Christmas deviates from the riverway motif, but still maintains its Lowcountry theme, its tin art depicting Charleston during the holidays.

The Carolina Christmas 2024 pipe tobacco celebrates the Lowcountry during the holiday season and comprises a blend of proprietary Red Virginia Cavendish, heirloom Burleys, matured Red and Bright flue-cured leaf, genuine St. James Perique, and exotic Katerini Turkish. It enchants with a deep, natural sweetness enhanced by notes of baking spices, tangy citrus, and wildflower honey.

My immediate reaction to the smell out of the tin was like I had opened an oven with freshly-baked fig rolls inside. The taste was warm and comforting toasted bread, figs, and spices, but it didn't overpower the tobacco and blended perfectly together.

Grandpas Christmas pipe in a tin from the past. What a wonderful warm, nutty, toasted, roasted taste and room note. Woody, nut butter, roasted and toasted bread/nuts. Puff slow and enjoy. Good on relite. I wish I had 5 tins. Awesome job!!!!! I disappointed I only have one.

I'm so glad that C&D has stepped into the ring with what promises to be a yearly tradition. I think it's also great that they have not simply copied the McClelland Christmas cheer tradition, but begun with something completely original, involving Burley. This blend is very complex, and I have yet to wrap my head around it, but complexity is nearly always an excellent thing in my book. I like blends that keep me guessing, and I anticipate this one will continue to keep me guessing as it ages. As of now, it reminds me of a bowl full of mixed nuts mixed with cranberries. The perique content is not strong, but it does deepen the intrigue. I only got two tins this time, but next year I expect I will be placing a larger order!...Read More
