This Raindrop has a rather Hawkbill-esque droop to its shank-and-stem arrangement — shaping that perfectly complements the bottom-heavy, droplet-shaped bowl. The shank and stem's left flank also possesses a crisp, arcing ridgeline, which lends the overall form a teardrop shape not unlike that of the bowl. Because of its bottom-heavy shaping, the bowl offers a comforting in-hand presence, and extra space toward the heel to show off cascading ripples of ring grain. Said grain is emphasized by a tight sandblast, and dressed in a rich mahogany stain that makes the perfect muted backdrop for the swirling aqua tones of the acrylic stem.
