Single-blend brands tend to be an eccentric bunch - they can range in direction, style, and prudence from the classic "Presbyterian" blend to something like "Whiskey Sweat-lodge Fruit Basket". The "Five Brothers", originally blended by the (presumably five) Finzer brothers, keeps things simple, though: this is an air-cured, shag-cut Burley. That is not, however, to say that it is without distinction. Those who have reviewed this blend have been quite clear that this is some powerful stuff.
This stuff is simple and great---Elegance in simplicity. Best way to smoke is to find your favorite chair, install a seat belt, pour some straight scotch (or whiskey), fire up--- and get it on!
You will love it.
Gave this one 5 just because of what it is and not what I expected or what I wanted it to be. Pure burley in flavor and strength! Enough already said about burning properties so, if you’re a burley fan give it a try
Simple blend, simply an excellent Burley! The tobacco comes quite dry and is intended to be smoked this way. Very strong tobacco. If you have no tolerance for Vitamin N, don't bother. What you get is a very basic, dry, shag of burley. No toppings or casings so far as I can tell. I'll use it to boost wimpier blends. I'd hate to meet the guy that could use this as a RYO, but it reminds me of one. Dirty Burley! Read Less

This is some strong, straight Burley & is good to stoke in a pipe or RYO. I rather like very strong tobaccos on occasion as well as a strong cigar since I don't inhale anything. I like to keep my lungs free of "asphalt." This doesn't have any flavor to offer other than just plain old Burley tobacco taste which is sufficient if you're just after a Vitamin N blast.
This is simply a no frills, straight up Kentucky Burley that only takes a few puffs to get you going but when you get there, you may not remember where you came from. Excellent blend for what it is with a good price tag. I liked it & sometimes use it to top off a wimpy blend. Not sure if I like more than or less than Chatham Manor.
They are different though have some similarities, Chatham

find myself reaching for this more than Chatham lately.

It was the same taste throughout the bowl, with the nicotine strengthening as I smoked longer, probably my body trying to give me a warning!
I have trouble keeping it lit, which is odd considering the cut and dryness of the tobacco. I only smoke it in a miniature pipe though, and had to dump the ash a couple of times. Nice that it has no problem smoking all the way to the bottom of the bowl.
This is one of my favorites, it is in a league of it's own, when you need a kick, this will be more than enough.
