ies’s sake). The perique is almost non detectable. It occasionally will poke its head in the door but does not make this a spicy blend by any means. I can’t really say that it tastes like a cigar, but I can say that it tastes like a very well crafted English blend. Reminds me a bit of Nightcap but with a rounder mouthfeel and no rough edges. Great for a Cigar experience

It does taste like a good cigar. It's a good tobacco for people moving into pipe smoking from cigars or for pipe smokers who want the cigar taste.

t well. It doesnt overpower everything else and acts like a great backup singer - you know its there, you appreciate its there, if it wasnt there you'd miss it, but youre glad its not center stage.
The cigar leaf tastes and smells a tad more than just a "spoonfull" (also kicks a bit more in the nicotine department) but that is part of what I love about it. One of my favorite morning smokes!...Read More

n a cigar leaf and Latakia can make, after trying Key Largo, which was interesting, but too Latakia forward for me (can be different for you).
I realized that what I need is some balanced blend based on Cigar, maybe paired with Burley, with some Va and maybe Per for balance, and only a drop of Lat as a condiment. Used search at this site and found exactly what I wanted. Ordered. Loved it.
Packs and smokes easily, tasty in any pipe, cigar character is leading, rounded and accompanied by other compoments. Latakia smooths out and adds some cream, as well as additional dimension. Some very very light sweetness at times. Overall, very rich, very balanced and complex taste. Notes of wood, nuts, leather, some meat, bread, cream, earth and cocoa, etc... And I'm talking about bulk here!
For now the only blend I can compare it to in quality, character and profile is Engine 382. The Engine doesn't have any Latakia, neither cigar, it even was put into Virginia family somehow at this website, but in reality it is quite strong Burley-forward blend with a cigar character. I think adding a proper amount of Va and Perique in both blends create such unique, rounded and smooth taste and character (for cigar leaf in this one and for Burley in 382), and condiments (Latakia in this one and Deertongue in 382) complete the magic. Yes, there is a place for this in my rotation. It's a pipe tobacco for recruiting cigar smokers, a nice crossover blend with some of the best aspects of both worlds. Usually a good dry burn.
