This is my daily smoke. When I first tried it I wasn't quite sure about it but over time it really grew on me. Virgina's out in front, cigar leaf coming in close second. That said, I still can't really tell that cigar leaf was indeed added to this pipe blend; it doesn't seem to taste at all like a cigar, let alone a Cuban one. I'm not sure how big that "spoonful" of cigar leaf is, but the cigar is upfront and "at attention". Seems like there's a good helping. No tongue bite, no matter how hardily puffed. I wasn't sure about this upon first smoke. A few days later it is my secondary in regular rotation. Very good smoke, good nic hit, burns well and leaves no mess. The cigar leaf is tasty if you smoke slow and cool. Enjoy.
This is a good, but not great, blend. It doesn't have any "wow factor" for me. It is well balanced, has good flavor and body. Virginias and perique are well pronounced, but the latakia and the cigar leaves stay very much in the background. For those looking for a cigar taste, they will hardly find it, but it is good.
It's a quality blend, and it's lame of me to throw in a nod to another in a review of this one, but it seems like it went for Fox's "Banker's" and failed.
