sh is a different animal, but it really works well in this blend with the notes of Dark Chocolate, hint of Vanilla and a very subtle hint of caramel, maybe. This is a grand slam traditional American Style Aromatic pipe tobacco. I give it 4 out of 5 stars, it can be my go to aromatic blend. It hits the spot. Read Less

While I would agree that the raw smell of the tobacco gets some getting used to, it is a phenomenally good smoke with exceptional flavor, good aroma and zero bite.

Hints of dark fruits and chocolates, not overly sweet but is a perfect smoke for after dinner on the porch. Dry out for ~1 hour before packing.

I've been smoking this for a month now and enjoying it completely. Lightly aromatic, vanilla, berries. Smooth, no bites. I hope they never change the blend because I'm putting in another order.

This is pretty good stuff, but to me it’s not reminiscent of Captain at all. 2.5 stars because it’s not like what they say it is.

I smoked this a lot in my new meer coloring bowl and it ruined it. I had to throw it away. The taste was fine, but if you have a nice pipe I would avoid smoking this in there. Try a corn cob or something that doesn't have much value.

Was not sure about it at first but it grows on you and gets better. I put it in an empty can, leave the lid off and let it air. . Won't dry out. Pack it semi loose. It won't bite or smoke hot.

exception. Clearly it was crafted to emulate Captain Black, and on that score it failed. The two are nothing alike, really, but that doesn't matter. The flavor is excellent. It actually tastes like it smells, which I find to be no small achievement. The 1oz sample I tried has already cemented it as a firm favorite. It is the only blend I've had that not only elicits zero complaints, it is in fact requested. There is not much nicotine to speak of, however. I will be ordering much more of this. If you are a fan of aromatics, this deserves a try. If you've never tried an aromatic, you can do far worse than this. My highest recommendation. Read Less

abit of lane 1q which i remember enjoying so i paked a bowl, on the charing light i was overwhelmed with overly sweet vanilla then chocolate flavours i would normally enjoy if the sweetness was milde. Needless to i mixed a handful of this blend with a couple of pinches of peter stokkebye English luxury and let it sit for a week and i can say i enjoy it alot better this way the smokiness of the latikia helped tone down the sweetness and changed the flavour to that of smores by a campfire. night it will burn cool and dry. Don't pack it to tight - it will burn hot and wet. If packed to light it will burn hot. Medium compression works just fine and fits in with my ususal draw pattern.
It will ghost in a well aged briar - so that is why I only use a cob.

This blend is not for me. Overly sweet, very vanilla, think vanilla custard. One star for the grade of tobacco used, not that you can taste the tobacco for the flavoring. Caution: This blend will ghost a pipe.

This blend for some reason was too harsh tasting for me.
Tried a few bowls and still could not develop a taste for it.
I am surprised there are no other reviews on this blend.
I would love to find out what other fellow pipe-smokers think.
