Sampled for three bowls in a MM Missouri Pride (previously conditioned).
Cards in the table - C&D knows how to marry honey with Virginia tobacco. This blend is no exception. The honey note is just forward enough to be a star, but not overpowering nor saccharine sweet.
There’s nice thing here is balance. One side of the equation you have sweet honey and red Virginia, and on the other side you have that quality C&D burley and Perique. This all makes for a nice balanced meal served atop the black cavendish.
Speaking of - IF I were to make it more to my liking, that black cavendish would dial down a bit, the the balance it takes away be filled with Perique and more Virginia. That’s just me tho.
I did notice that towards the end of all three bowls the honey wanes and the Perique swells. Nice.
This aro is different - and holds its own. I bet in cooler weather I’d rate it higher - it’s almost like a sophisticated or elevated codger blend IMO. I could see it sold by the tub and having legion of dedicated fans.
It’s good enough I wouldn’t mind having a little in hand, and unique enough that it has its own identity and could be “craved” specifically at times.
My rating: 3 - This is good and I would buy It on sale, or to get free shipping.

I want to write this review now because I've never smoked this blend. I have never expected a tobacco to be top of the world. O always smoke every pipe with a open mind and a restful spirit. I injoy smoking my pipe and at the end of the day I've never had a tobacco I couldn't smoke
