It opens with honey-sweet and bright notes and settles into a smooth, subtle smoke. I suspect the base is more Virginia Cavendish and Dark Burley, which leans towards a predominant smooth, cool, earthy and herbal flavor. The sun cured, brights and perique contribute some complexity. This blend really surprised me! Very pleasant, relaxing, flavor of honey🍯 that doesn't overwhelm the fine tobacco's. Highly recommend 👌 😋

I want to write this review now because I've never smoked this blend. I have never expected a tobacco to be top of the world. O always smoke every pipe with a open mind and a restful spirit. I injoy smoking my pipe and at the end of the day I've never had a tobacco I couldn't smoke

For me there is nothing. Just hot smoke. No flavor of anything. However it packs well.

Rich, creamy, mildly sweet, and well balanced. Excellent all day smoke.

No flavor whatsoever. Smoked three bowls in a meerschaum pipe on different occasions with same results. This is the first C&D blend I have been truly disappointed in. ☹

I don't know why this would get a bad rap, it's not pretending to be something it isn't.

An old school blend (my wife's first comment was that it reminded her of her granddaddy's blend) that has a hint of sweetness, I could see this not being an all-day blend, but I can't wait to try it with my morning coffee tomorrow. I've been looking for something lighter to go in my rotation.

I appreciate the other review and see his point. I found this to be a bit better that's all. It has a very nice nose on first opening the container. (I store in Mason Jars) It comes across with some chocolate & almond (maybe?). No upfront bite at all and a pleasant rebreathe. True, the taste is not all that powerful but it goes well with a cup of coffee as a first bowl after b'fast. As mentioned, it packs nicely and burns smoothly. Not everything is a home run. I gave it one and half stars because it packs well. I've tried this in several pipes and it's the same, you wait for flavor that never comes. It's completely flavorless.
