With the high perique content in this tobacco it’s a powerful and spicy smoke. As with most VA/Pers it’s not incredibly complex, but then again most VA/Pers smokers aren’t looking for that. It has some sweet background notes common with virginias, along with some hay/bready taste but it’s the perique that shines on this one. This is truly a perique lover's dream. It being heavy on the perique may seem overwhelming for some, but it is approachable to new smokers. Good mild to medium nicotine, room note, and strength.

Loved it so much I got an 8 oz bag of it. Plan on keeping this one stocked at all times.

I start my day with this one. Sweetness is there, but from time to time, perfectly balanced with the rest of ingredints. Spice and nicotine is there also to shake me for good morning.

I can count maybe 10 to 15 blends out of the multitudes I've tried, that I just could not put down when I first tried them. This is most definitely a top favorite for me. The grassy and sweet golden Virginias, tangy reds and fruity/ spicy / funky perique...there is even something creamy and smooth about this blend. When I first smelled this tobacco, I was puzzled. What kind of strange smell is this? But after lighting it, during the smoking process, the temperature in the pipe is moderate and the taste is good. I'm a VaPers fan through and through. For the price point, it doesn't get better than this.

Based on the majority of reviews, I rolled the dice and purchased 8 oz, knowing that I could always cellar the majority of it if I needed time to acclimate to the more robust taste of the Perique.
