At the request of an old customer, the folks at C&D took the recipe for Bayou Night and reversed the proportions of Latakia and Perique to create a full English in the Scottish vein. If Bayou Night is perfect for an evening on the bayou, Mountain Camp is a peerless choice for a day spent fishing.

I enjoy this blend. Wish they would put a nice graphic of a campfire on the tin. Look better setting on the shelf 😆. Nice relaxing smoke and not harsh at all. It's going to taste even better sitting out by the fire! 😉. Nice cup of black coffee would pair up nicely.

Incredibly Unique

had a bit of bite/spiciness on the tip of my tongue, but that went away toward the middle of the bowl. First 1/3rd of the bowl was very unique, and I couldn't quite place the flavor, except for the the burley is fairly apparent.
Toward the mid-end of the bowl it smoothed out and turned very meaty and leathery, and the latakia became more apparent. At the end of the bowl, there was no dottle and the ash was very grey and clean looking.
I don't think this blend will join my regular rotation, but it's a nice change of pace if I want to smoke something high quality but completely unique....Read More

starts off very strong at the light and has a sweet and peppery countenance. Beautifully smoky and peppery. The leather is here, but it takes a backseat and accents the Virginia and oriental combo masterfully.
The physical property of the smoke is interesting because it’s very full, but it’s thin, almost steam like and sheer in appearance. Meanwhile, it possesses a very strong room note.
Latakia and perique just go off here and put on a great performance. This really is a very nice full easy smoke and a delightful English with a difference twist.
Retrohale is spicy and delicious.
This blend is well crafted enough that you could push it if you are a faster cadence smoker like myself, however don’t. Make an effort to save it. You’ll be rewarded with a very full flavored English blend with a smoky little twist and its own identity.
