I usually shy away from blends that contain perique but I'm glad I didn't pass this one up. The tin note smells like Kailua liquor to me, nice. The perique is in the background somewhere and I don't notice it on the retrohale so don't shy away from this easy going and relaxing tobacco. I'm glad I didn't pass it by....Read More

Deliciously sweet virginias take the forefront, burley keeps it going, perique ties up the end, toppings seem a mere afterthought. Very mellow and enjoyable yet still far from bland. Taste mostly virginia at first, slightly vanilla. Buttery is how I'd describe it. Towards the end the perique and burley create an almost bacon-ey taste with the char of the smoldering virginias. I too wish this came in bulk. Update: This is going into my exclusive 5-star club. The virginias are top quality and the blend is perfect....Read More

I recently bought a tin of this excellent blend on the recommendation of my friend Jay Furman, tobacco connoisseur, and BOY was he right! This stuff is delicious. When they describe it as "lightly topped" with flavors of cocoa caramel and vanilla, they really mean LIGHTLY. You'll notice the aromas in the tin and upon the first light of the bowl. It's a pleasant, subtle taste. Not cloying or overpowering. But the rest is just a medium bodied delicious blend that you will easily smoke all day. I prefer to break the long ribbons into smaller pieces. It comes from the tin on the dry side, which is fine for me. This probably mostly forgotten tobacco is worth a try, especially for a fall smoke. I'm about to buy three more tins because I'm almost done my first tin. Thank you Jay for your wise words, recommending STOVEPIPE!...Read More
My go to

Product: Cornell & Diehl Stovepipe 2oz
I’d say it’s not an aro but aro adjacent. It has a slight sweetness to it but still has a good tobacco taste that’d you’d expect from a Virginia Burley. Don’t seem to get much of the perique but either way it’s my go to when I can’t decide what to grab for.
