To those who say it's not aromatic, are you letting it dry a bit before smoking? This stuff comes out of the tin sopping wet. If dried, and enjoyed slowly it provides a cool, relaxing, and flavorful smoking experience. Burns evenly and well, and h... Read More

This blend's tin note is lovely; vanilla and some berries. Overall it is a light blend, i was originally shocked there was burley in there, not like other blends with it in there in terms of lacking body. The flavor is vanilla bean and almost black... Read More
berry to me. Very Danish styled. It also should be said it has aged 2 years plus. Does need a bit drying out, but absolutely a relaxing blend that is as refreshing as an iced tea Read Less

Tin note of vanilla, sugared fruit and spices. Tobacco is a Ribbon cut of light brown and brown with a tiny amount of dark brown. Moisture content is ok, but most pipe smokers will want to dry it a bit. Burns slow with a few relights. The strength is... Read More
mild to medium and nic is mild. Flavoring is mild, with notes of Vanilla. Vanilla is most prominent in the initial light but drops to the background afterwards. Taste is mild to medium and moderately consistent, with notes of vanilla, tart and tangy citrus, marshmallow, floral, orange zest, wood, spices, sour vegetation, earth, dark dried fruit, bread, savory, acidic, sugar, mildly spicy, a rich, sweet nutty background note, and a peppery retro. Virginias are leading with Cavendish, Virginia and Flavoring supporting. Room note is pleasant, and aftertaste is good. Read Less

A vanilla tin note with a hint of berry. I like the subtle sweetness and vanilla. Well done and well blended. It is a very mild cool smoking blend.UPDATE: It also improves with age. It is a good daily blend.

Tastes good ,smell well ,a little bit tongue bites but you can surely taste the big amount of sugar at the begging of the progress.

It burns really well, but is heavily cased in pseudo-vanilla. Not what I expected from 4th Gen, being one of my favorite brands. This one is just... house-blendish. (shrug)
It's ok...

The vanilla isn't very strong. The smoking characteristics are good, so it smokes well. It's an ok smoke, but there are better, IMO.

The tin nose is really nice not too overpowering yet there in force. The false light let me in on the rest of the bowl the room note is amazing, and the taste gets better as the bowl burns to halfway. If you get it hot, the result is a wet dottle of... Read More

After reading several of the mediocre or negative reviews here about this tobacco I must say that I have to dissent and rate this smoke rather highly. It lives up to its advertising and provides a bright, cool, and flavorful experience. The vanilla i... Read More
s definitely present, but not overwhelming and there are other subtle flavors present - possibility peach. Know that I will order more on my next tobacco order. BTW, I normally smoke English blends so aromatics are outside my comfort zone, but the 1957 blend has changed my outlook! Read Less

I was lucky enough to get signed tins when this series came out. I absolutely loved the first and third in this offering. However the second one and this, the forth have been a great disappointment. The tin aroma is sublime, vanilla and honey, howeve... Read More
r, it was so wet it almost needed "hanging out on a washing line" prior to smoking, and as with the second in the series had zero flavour in the pipe. My advise, buy the first and third in this series and forget the other two. Read Less
