One flake, torn in half and stuffed/folded, ragged side up into a trusty old Deluxe Milano billiard, is just right for a long, slow, easy smoke. Stays lit during the occasional pause and tastes great the rest of the time. I’m a recent flake convert and that format has advantages. This example is proof positive of a well married blend with good flavor and aroma. The burning characteristic is a big plus. If you remember The Mallard flake w/perique from Dan Tobacco, this blend is VERY similar to it, i suspect they use the same Rhodesian VAs that DTM is known for. Excellent quality leaf, expertly blended; clean brights with no casings or toppings and a generous dose of perique. Good looking flakes, ready to be smoked right off the bag. So glad I got this. It’s a perfect blend for everyday smoking, inexpensive but still has flavor. some similarities to Orlik but the perique is more noticeable. Flavor comes with some sweet hay, dates and even faint marshmallow and I mean that in a natural way. The flakes are very nice and they break up really well when rubbed out. I'm not very experienced with VaPers but I have tried some classics like Escudo, PS Navy Flake and Bullseye, Peterson's Deluxe Navy Rolls and some others. Unfortunately I haven't tried Orlik Golden Sliced and people say these 2 compare. Anyway, this tobacco is fantastic, especially for the price. The top of the bowl is so intense freshly cut grassy/hay notes that you would think it's a topping. As bowl progresses, perique starts shining more and more while grassy notes are subsiding and in the last third of the bowl you have totally different flavors than in beginning. I've never smoked tobacco that could change its taste so much during smoking. Doesn't bite at all.
