Fribourg & Treyer was founded in 1720 with a pipe shop in the Haymarket area of London. The company catered to England's elite, including many royals through the centuries. Though Fribourg & Treyer closed in the 1980s, their legacy continues through a line of premium pipe tobacco, enthralling discerning pipe smokers worldwide.

Rarely do I smoke a tobacco that hits all the marks. But this one does it. Slow draws letting the smoke out through your mouth and nose in front of your face and absorbing the taste and flavors it disperses in your mouth. A good nicotine hit as well. You truly get lost in a good way in this tobacco. Smoking it in my MM Country Gentleman. An amazing Virginia. Haven’t smoked a Fribourg & Treyer blend I don’t like. This is a solid blend sweet and bready tin note and when smoked it’s very fruity and bready. A good smoke but definitely a fruity top note.Not a pure tobacco experience.

The tin note and cut expresses nothing but quality. But even after a couple of weeks of breathing, a chemical taste prevailed. Perhaps more aging in the jar would curb the sharp almost alcoholic flavor of the burn, which I can only imagine is an over prevalent preservative or anti-mold agent. Either way, the fact that it seemed as strong in the end of the tin as it did at the beginning was enough to put me off. Again, I'm sure there's a fine smoke to be had should one be youthful and adventurous enough to seek it out. But too many other blends beckon, and life is fleeting....Read More
