About This Pipe Tobacco

Established in 1864 on Copenhagen's famous Strøget walking street, the W.Ø. Larsen tobacco shop was the premier pit stop for those seeking luxury pipes and ultra-premium tobaccos. Paying homage to Mr. Wilhelm Ockenholt Larsen himself, this luxury line of pipe tobaccos are based on the old tobacconist's most successful Scandinavian mixtures.

Named for the tobacconists founding date, W.Ø. Larsen's 1864 Perfect Mixture comprises specially selected Virginia tobaccos from three continents with fermented Black Cavendish and high-quality Burley from the United States, Malawi, and Mexico. Flavored with hints of amaretto and coffee, supported by notes of chocolate, orange, and whiskey, 1864 Perfect Mixture is a complex Aromatic blend with a rich aroma.

I smoked this out of a fresh tin and I wasn't impressed so I jarred it up with Boveda packs and ignored it. Now almost a year later I can't get enough of it. I mostly enjoy virginia flake and some burley tobaccos. Glad I was patient and let it mature some. Pipe smoking is definitely a journey and a learning experience....Read More

Having tried 100+ blends, this WO Larsen 1864 is a stand out. The presentation is luxurious, the tin note aroma is a unique, pleasant aromatic, with strong notes of cocoa, cream, nuttiness, and a bit of orange citrus. It's pretty dry right out of the box and had the brown appearance of a virginia blends, as opposed to the black goopy cavendish mess that many aromatics tend to be. It smoked well and the flavour was very subdued. Its everything I wanted in a tobacco. I've never had Esoterica, Frog Morton, or the legendary discontinued/rare blends, but of everything I have tried, if I ever wanted to impress another pipe smoker with an aromatic, I would offer this. Missing ingredient in product description

If I could give it a zero, I would. The ingredient not listed in product description is kerosene. Without a doubt, the most bitter tobacco I've ever smoked. I'm going to jar it up and let it sit or about a year, then give it a go again, but I'm not hopeful.

Despite all the bad reviews about this aromatic tobacco and the fact that I’m like some specific aromatic tobaccos too , this is nothing special although it said premium tobacco flavor of whisky orange chocolate nothing really taste that much smells not bad though but for this price really not worth it compare this to blue sapphire if you are a fan of very aromatic tobaccos this one not even better than that...Read More
