About This Pipe Tobacco

Fribourg & Treyer was founded in 1720 with a pipe shop in the Haymarket area of London. The company catered to England's elite, including many royals through the centuries. Though Fribourg & Treyer closed in the 1980s, their legacy continues through a line of premium pipe tobacco, enthralling discerning pipe smokers worldwide.

Special Brown Flake from Fribourg & Treyer is a pure Virginia flake with a top note of naval rations, giving it a hint of boozy sweetness.

I am a Virginia Flake guy after 50 years of smoking everything. This is a First Class tobacco in every way. The biggest negative is that it is hardly available so don’t fall in love with it☺️

I thoroughly enjoy this flake. Tobacco aromas and tastes: semi- sweet, tangy, bready, and earthy. Lots of lovely flavors as you go down the bowl and things unfurl. It's just a little moist out of the tin. I love this stuff.

Stoved virginia and rum. A lot like blockade runner by C&D. Fribourg and Treyer are much overlooked these days. And they shouldnt be. This is, like all their tobacco blends, first rate. The rum is subtle, but its there. And it adds to the coolness. There is a mild casing, as well, but very very very mild. Mostly its a very good Virginia flake with rum....Read More
