ipe in his hand, looking through the drawers in Cary's desk and demanding to know "Where is it?". The 'it' is Cary's (aka Blanding) blend of pipe tobacco which Melvyn can't seem to get enough of. For years I have wanted to know what was so special about that tobacco to fill Melvyn Douglas's character with an almost manic desire. Or was it just an act, and the tobacco just a fictional invention? Finally in answer to my own query of "Where is it, if it really did and/or continues to exist?" Here 'it' is! And every bit as desirable as depicted in the movie! It is an English tobacco that even people not so fond of English could enjoy, balanced with just enough sweetness and aroma with the good manners of the actor it had been blended for. CG blend is a touch heavier on the aromatic than Karamer's Blend for Danny Kaye, always present in the flavour but never overbearing.

Latakia brings in a supporting smokiness and the small amount of Kramer's Irish Mist aromatic sweetens the whole melange gently from start to finish. Delicious without being artificial. Lors of natural tobacco flavour to savour.
CG is a medium bodied blend with no bite. Packs, lights and burns well. Aftertaste is slightly reminiscent of .a smoky European ginger cookie - those spicy Orientals again!

This is a very nice English blend. The topping is applied with a very light touch. It adds to the depth and character of this blend. This is a keeper best enjoyed on a cold winter day (or night) with a fine liquor. Should age remarkably.

bit nutty, the Virginia is sweet, the latakia is there for support, and the orientals never get lost. It’s simply amazing. I didn’t even smell the Irish until halfway through the bowl, when it gave a nice mellow finish to the whole project. Nothing here will make you go “Wow” or slap you in the face. It is all very subtle, very soothing, very harmonious, incredibly understated. This is by far the very best English aromatic I have ever tried. I imagine my four ounce purchase will not last long. I found it to be nutty and the taste was like a cappuccino with a very pleasant aroma that was not the strong cavendish vanilla--something more subtle. The Virginias are the most obvious component and are grassy, tart and tangy citrus sweet with a touch of earth and wood. It's an English blend with some mild aromatic qualities to it. Cary Grant burns very well, but it can bite.

me of the orientals. The mintyness also went away. This blend can be smoked fast or slow without the virginias scorching and tasting ashy also. The faster I smoked the more of the latakia I got. I really liked this and will probably order more. The only reason I didn't get it a full 5 stars is because I love very strong latakia and it wasn't quite as strong as I am used to. When comparing this to their "Father Dempsey"--it's not as strong as that. Cary Grant comes off as a medium English with Kramer's very mild aromatic added to it. I found the smoke to have just the right components of all the different tobaccos and was blended very well.
