Kramer's: Father Dempsey 50g Pipe Tobacco
Product Number: 003-772-0001
Already a well-respected tobacconist and shop owner in Chicago, Allen Kramer and his wife Tina moved to Beverly Hills in the late 1940s to explore new opportunities in a sunny, warmer climate. They soon established Kramer's Pipe & Pipe Tobacco in what was a relatively small town at the time. Nearby Hollywood proved to be a fertile stomping ground for movie stars, many of whom patronized the Kramer's establishment.
Father Dempsey was an Irish-Catholic priest who befriended Allen and Tina Kramer upon their move from Chicago to Beverly Hills. Kramer's Pipe & Pipe Tobacco soon became a favorite of the good Father's and this custom blend was his favorite. Word of Kramer's talents as a tobacconist spread rapidly in the Hollywood-adjacent town during the 1950s, with many celebrities patronizing the store. The Father Dempsey mixture is a medium-strength, smooth, smoky and full-bodied English blend with a hint of sweetness and the aroma of a burning campfire. It's also Kramer's most popular house blend and was reputedly smoked by Cecil B. DeMille and Samuel Goldwyn among many others.
