I bought one ounce just to try . After almost 5 bowl fulls I've got to say I really enjoy this blend the spiciness from the perique especially through the retro hale then sweetness from the Virginia's keeps me wanting more I will definitely be purchasing more of this to keep on hand

I have had both the tinned and bulk versions of Exclusive. This has become my go-to blend. The sweetness of the Virginia's and Cavendish and the spice of the Perique trade off on wowing your taste buds. If I could smoke only one tobacco blend, this would be it.

I like some other reviews bought this to be a base for some home blending. Well I keep just enjoying this straight. I had loaded up my clay pipe to just get a feel for the blend to rough out an idea of proportions of the other tobaccos I was going to add and I was shocked with how much I just kept smoking this straight. The perique is there and bold spicy figgy and plummy but not knock your socks off which I found surprising. The Virginia's are naturally sweet with a little fruitiness and a more defined breadiness to them and the cavendish adds just a nice amount of body. The VA’s are pre saturated with Perique after being in a jar for several months making Exclusive a good on the spot blending option. For example, I mix in Dark and White Burley to make a blend that I appreciate as much as Haunted Bookshop. Or sometimes I will blend exclusive with Low Country VA, or any VA offering, for a more Perique subtle VA/Per. It is worthy of note that while this blend is quite strong, the strength does not come my favorite constituent. The purported 50% perique has not come through once in the week+ that I have been smoking this blend. All I taste is Burley. Had I know that it was present in this blend at all, I would have avoided it like the plague. I bought a pound with excitement thinking, "ah! A Va/Per that is essentially the same as the blend I made myself... Only cheaper and with no blending necessary." Boy, was I mistaken! There is no sweetness of a cavendish, and knowing that perique is also a rather dark tobacco, the light color of the overall blend leads me to believe that there are close to equal parts Burley and Virginia, with much, Much less than 50% perique. I'm very disappointed with this purchase, though my disappointment may be someone else's selling point....Read More

I use to hate this stuff! It turned me off of perique blends for a while, but after a few years I decided to buy it again. It's still a strong overwhelming perique bomb, but it blends so well with tamer straight VA's. I use it as my red Virginia/ perique base then blend it to my likings.
