I put 8oz of this stuff in a jar and forgot it existed for well over 2 years. Let me tell you, I'm glad I did. It is delicious; punchy, sweet, fruity, and spicy. This stuff is actually strong! A Virginia blend with some actual strength. We all know how rare that is. But what really took this from 4 to 5 stars for me, was how wonderful Exclusive is when mixing to get home blends. It makes a great base to make the kinds of home blends that'd staple you to your chair and make you see green, while still being flavorful and sweet. Golden Sauce. I'm usually not a fan of VaPer blends, but wow! This one is different. The best way to describe it is like smoking spiced fruit bread! The aroma and room note are also fantastic, it's almost like an aromatic without all the chemicals added. Very nice nicotine hit as well, definitely a blend for fans of heavier nicotine. Year Round Perique Fix

My tin was two years old btw, so keep that in mind. Let me be very clear: I utterly love Perique. Now The Beast, at least for me, stands out as the reigning champ of perquie blends, but, as we all know, it ain't sitting around for me to buy at my leisure. So I asked the SP crew what could hope to compare. I was led to this. Now this blend packs well in my Sean Reum Lumberman, a nice wide and deep piece of briar. This smokes with the intensity of a crashing wave, and in a similar vein, packs a punch and flavor that's very, obviously, powerful, since it's 50% perquie. The spice forward and it drop kicks you, especially in the middle of the bowl. It burns fast, similar to haunted bookshop, but I find this is more complex. This one is perfect to chase a huge steak down the gut, a morning kick in the nethers, or, for my original desires, a blend that can handle outside smoking with no issues and play the role of The Creature while the The Beast slumbers. Just don't push it too hard, as it will deliver vitamin N without restraint. A++ for me and it is in my regular rotation....Read More

Note: The tin this review is based on was 5 years old I really enjoyed this tobacco. It's not really like anything else I've personally tried, so I can't exactly give a good comparison. And I suspect the age did it a lot of good compared to a fresh tin. It was just a strong rich complex flavor. Not something for everyday, and the nic hit was very present. It's very much worth a try, though I expect it won't be for everyone. Also, it wants to bite. It's not an absentminded smoke, but more of a meditation on itself. (*Updated*) Bumping it now, already, from 4.5★ to 5.0★. This blend has quickly earned a spot in my Top Five and I want it often. If this were the only pipe tobacco available...I wouldn't be at all sad. I plan to order more of this...soon. Also, it doesn't taste the same in all pipes. For this reason, I recommend trying Exclusive in a number of your pipes; if you have them. (*Original Rating/Review*) What I have recently received is very nice and could end up being a regular; but it is freshly made. I have one unopened 2 oz tin, I received in early '24 (likely produced in the second half of '23) and this recently ordered 16 oz (dated Mar. 25, 2026); which I am currently trying out. This rating is based on the 16 oz dated: Mar. '26. Tobacco Reviews (TR) has an average rating for this at 2.97/4; equivalent to 3.75/5. The TR comments all seem to do a lot of comparisons of this to other blends. They can't seem to help themselves. And there's an overuse of "I taste blah blah blah?" in their comments. But I don't eat "figs, plums, manure, grass, hay, stewed fruit, raisin bread, mushroom," and more; not on the regular anyway. So I am not going to say it tastes like any of those. And what does "musty, woodsy, dark, or muddy" even taste like? So anyhow, I give it an initial rating of 4.5★ for being very nice; between good and excellent. It tempts me to open the one 2 oz tin, I have, that is over two years aged. But I'll refrain for now. I love the flavor of this blend, the excitement I get when tasting every puff, and that it isn't overpowering in any way. I would not have expected it to be a VaPer w/Cav though. So I can see why so many might be comparing it to other VaPer's. But I don't buy tobacco to taste like others. If I enjoy another...I'll just buy the other. What I want is to try unfamiliar-to-me blends. To see what each has to offer, on its own; separate and uniquely from all others. Exclusive fits that to a 'T'. Will probably be upgrading my rating to 5.0★ real soon...it's just so good!...Read More
