There is something special about this blend. I love Latakia and enjoy many blends like GLP Quiet Nights, Abingdon, Gaslight, Lagonda, Spark Plug. Ashton Arisan's Blend, Night Cape, and many others are also favorites. Mountain Camp has surprised me time and time again because it is simply a lovely tobacco. Does it "go deep", as I like to say, the way Spark Plug and others like it do? Not necessarily to me. Is it "endlessly silky", as I describe Artisan's Blend and Abingdon. Again, not for me. But Mountain Camp has, for me, found its own space amongst all of these other greats, and I never tire of smoking it. I'm good with it any time of day. I can watch the sunrise with it, enjoy it in the afternoon, or greet the waning hours of a fall evening with it. I recommend giving it a try....Read More

This is my favorite blend from Cornell & Diehl so far. Like others have mentioned, it has an enjoyable Latakia smokiness, but not overbearing. The very first blend I got from them was Morning Bayou, which is a succulent perique bomb. Mountain Camp is my second one, and let me tell you that I am so about trying all they have by now. What a blend, it tastes like it was made by an alchemist. Of course you have a lot of Latakia in, but it does NOT shadow the other ones. Where can I ever start? It is the most balanced blend I've ever had for now, and one can tell that they have been working on it in a sharp and precise manner. Behind this Latakia, you will taste the orientals complimenting it. The Virginia maybe is far behind but still here adding its personal touch, the burley wraps it all around giving you this soft and creamy feel, and the subtle cherry on the cake, THEIR wonderful Perique giving this last touch. If I could only smoke one blend for the rest of my life, it would be Mountain Camp. Great black pepper notes and flavorful Latakia. I'd smoke it after lunch or dinner. The trouble with smoking all the time is eventually I run out, so I have to switch it up, much to my chagrin.
