This was not what I was expecting at all. I did think there would be more oomph than what I got from it, more punchy. On the contrary, it's quite balanced, and well... a little plain. I normally smoke lat-forward stuff in fall/winter, but decided to give this a try early. I can only describe the tin note as “dog jerky,” sort of like Beggin’ Strips if you’re familiar. Very different from what I’m used to (primarily Boswell Northwoods and SPC Plum Pudding). Was concerned for a moment, but loaded it in a clay and WOW, did it open up! Smoky, savory, a nice touch of sweetness with just the right level of floral notes from the Turkish. Not sure I could get it to bite or scorch if I’d tried! I don’t know if anything could unseat Northwoods, but this is definitely gonna be a Top 5 for me in its category....Read More

While this isn't a total lat bomb, it definitely scratches that itch for me. The first few bowls kinda bad me struggling to discern the flavors of the different components (Latakia aside of course), but on bowl four I totally understand it now. The oriental leaf is at just the right level to give a little bit of a floral or spice to the blend, and the Virginia gives what Virginias always give. But the Latakia is different than any Latakia heavy blend I've had. It's rich, dark and smooth tasting. Obviously smokey but the leather aspect is what hits me the most. Creamy mouth feel. I've been folding and stuffing the flakes but I think this needs a bit more rubbing out than flakes I'm accustomed to. All in all, a solid product I plan on keeping in the rotation....Read More
